I liked a post on twitter. Then it came up in my feed again without my like. So I liked it again, clicked the post to get a page with just the post, and shift-reloaded that page. The like count dropped from 30 to 26, again my like being lost. BTW, the post has been up for 9 hours had has more than 5000 views (although that might also be manipulated downwards).

Twitter is still not worthy of trust.

Insult a group of people or something well liked, that gets people's attention for some stupid fucking reason.

I agree, one of the things the algorithms on centralized platforms do so well is help new users be discovered. You join twitter/instagram/tiktok and they do their best to promote that new user to people who they share contacts with. They highlight their posts so they get likes, follows, replies. That way new users don’t feel like they’re talking in to a void.

This is hard because you need to balance this out with not rewarding spammers. It’s one of the hard problems we need to solve, and it’s not one existing users see, but it’s important.

Right now these are public events but we can make them private, there will be also a community version of this calendar. It will take some time but all features will be available.
