You would be correct
someone also pointed out that they're using Firefox so they're missing some hardware optimized decoding...
what a waste of time this blog post was
nostr:npub1yck44z5zqxmwpqzqs75ay6ffjdw843ng9p6mz0lzfff3fgz2djlsngujmw how is loading less power-wasting javascript a "worse experince"? this shoukd be the default experience
it also served low res images

it also changes the image quality, and the entire process requires cloudflare workers and API calls to 3rd party sites estimating your pollution based on geolocation -- all of this wastes more energy than my laptop does to render the original page anyway
wait you're giving people a worse experience by default because you think their electricity is too dirty?
this isn't hactivism, it's eco-terrorism.

Your brain works to learn things essentially by using LLM-like techniques. Strengthening neural pathways is comparable to adding weights.
You can't make that claim without being able to precisely explain how sentience works
Meanwhile the Miami Zoo's monorail is completely shutdown. The zoo is gigantic and walking around it is exhausting. You have to rent scooters now.
Why? They claimed they couldn't get replacement parts for the monorail cars anymore.

you would have to be borderline retarded to think this is autocomplete. Look at what this guy did with GPT-4 with no corrections
Let the free market speak
Does Gargron have a technical posts only account so I don't have to suffer through his personal life posts just to catch some Mastodon news?
I hope every restaurant pulling this shit goes out of business when the CRES crash happens
Walking through the menu and what I saw for ingredients and what was being served...
My suspicion is they don't make anything. The pasta is probably fresh, but they don't make it. Every sauce is from a bag. The focaccia wasn't very focaccia (closer to Little Caesar's crazy bread lol). The Parmesan... was not legit. It was like canned sawdust Parmesan in a silver serving dish.
I think Olive Garden puts more effort into their menu.
I paid like $100 to be gaslit
Wife last night wanted to go to an Italian place, so I picked one that we haven't been to before and is nearby.
Everything was good except: the waiter basically showed up to our table like "what do you want?", no greetings or anything. It was only our table he did that for.
And then our mains were smaller than expected portion sizes (which is fine, it was welcomed) so we ordered 2x minestrone soups.
I caught out of the corner of my eye a little panic when the order was put in.
And we waited.
And we waited.
And we waited.
They don't have soup do they?
The bastards brought us a vegetable broth. Not even, really. It was steamed vegetables in water with a tiny squirt of pesto. Nobody tasted this. It had no flavor, no salt at all. They literally invented it on the spot. No beans, no tomatoes, no pasta. It was not minestrone.
The fuckers lied to us and thought they could get away with it. Never going back.
That wouldn't be hard at all. There's already a concept of "provides". e.g., mysql56-client and mysql60-client "provide" mysql-client, so you make a package depend on "mysql-client" and the solver will be satisfied with either.
They could have been doing this for over 10 years
