Over 150 beers apparently

‘Input’ on one side of the source ..

‘Input’ on the other side of the source ..

‘Output’ on one side … didn’t get the picture of the other side .. but as many - and all different I’m told.

The podcast ‘Acquired’ looked interesting .. so I subscribed .. months ago .. but have yet to listen to a single episode, mainly because they weighing at 3 to 5 hours per episode.

WAIT … that was Jason Schwartzman? … holy crap!

Nothing. That’s everything .. nothing.

So ABC and George ‘bend the knee’ .. anyone left standing?

🎥 The Two Popes, 2019 - ★★★★½ 🖇️

🎥 Conclave, 2024 - ★★★★★ 🖇️

I’ve clearly got something about Popes‼️ https://john.philpin.com/2022/11/18/the-two-popes.html https://john.philpin.com/2024/12/14/conclave.html

The Vanity Fair cover is biased … to the truth.

Reporting odd iMessage behavior.

I have an existing thread running through iMessage all good - but randomly as I reply it sometimes switches to SMS.

If I ‘start a new thread’ and send to the exact number - it is delivered through iMessage AND DROPS THE MESSAGE INTO THE EXISTING THREAD.

Colgate and own brand on next shelf over - similarly priced, but no locked cabinets - but that might change apparently!

I’m sure there are more pressing problems in the world to solve than whether I change my clocks a couple of times a year .. but maybe we’re going to start with the low hanging fruit …

If you don’t want to go back into an office to work, you aren’t alone .. and no matter what argument for the benefits … you aren’t holding the aces. So .. decision time.

The small print behind the reward that is definitely delaying, potentially reducing and maybe even cause zero payment to anyone is going to cause even more ‘aggro’.

Must be something important.. no?

No.

Any one of them could park and walk in to an empty store and be out in ‘quick sticks’ .. but no.

It’s part of the line at the drive in for an LA Starbucks that I had just left.

🔗 Foreign students warned: Get back to America before Trump takes over.

I am not a student - but I had been thinking about this whilst down in New Zealand - but wasn’t in a rush - until November 6th.

Hello SoCal - looks like I was thinking straight. https://jabberwocking.com/foreign-students-warned-get-back-to-america-before-trump-takes-over/

Just discovered 1440

Why 1440?

"The printing press was invented around the year 1440, spreading knowledge to the masses and changing the course of history. More facts: In every day, there are 1,440 minutes. We’re here to make each one count."

Over the past couple of years I have increasingly disconnected from Galloway. Always used to like his insights and takes - but over time he seems to have become very blustery and grand standing. Sean Illing however? I put him up there with Sam Harris. So this one proved a conundrum. Sean won.

🔗 🎙️ Sean Illing and Scott Galloway

"Sean and Scott talk about the struggles men are facing today."

.. well worth it. No bluster. Considered. Thoughtful. AND IMHO Spot on.

Just shows how a show host really can shape how their guests come off. It’s definitely a skill. https://overcast.fm/+AAQLhWocdiA

"Mathematicians have discovered a mind-blowing new kind of infinity."

【 🔗 New Scientist at Apple News 】

Good grief, it was only in my last newsletter when I was talking about the eternal debate re Math(s) .. ‘Discovered or Invented’ and during the journey drifted over towards ‘infinity’ and Cantor and then for some reason changed course, though the point was more to do with …

"A good PURE mathematician is exactly this kind of person. They like to look at something that is a known irrefutable fact - and then refute it."

Good news - no need to update my newsletter around ‘infinity’. https://apple.news/An7joMsEvTyeBZOc_NHF1vA

Bu bye Beeper - love what you are TRYING to do - but I’m done with the random service disconnects and overall clunkiness.
