Maybe you remember the old Bulletin Boards (BBSs) that were reached by analogue dialup modems via telephone lines before TCP/IP and the Internet were invented. The BBS system has a certain nostalgic charm for me but has become important again in the field of low data rate comms via systems such as LoRa which is used for Meshtastic.

You are going to want to order a t-deck device before the new UI is officially released to the web flasher. Once the word gets out what they are going to be able to do, they are going to be hard to find, and the prices will be higher.
Also, if you know how to compile from source, you can install the new UI yourself already.
