My daughter wanted to go running after her soccer game today. She got dressed and came with this on. So I put my shirt on to match her and we got to our first run together.

Now if the college would only have a class on Bitcoin.

I’m very happy to report that after 237 days, I have finally been able to recover the sats that were locked up in my malfunctioning nostr:npub1jg552aulj07skd6e7y2hu0vl5g8nl5jvfw8jhn6jpjk0vjd0waksvl6n8n “experimental” Lightning wallet!

This was a strange journey, spanning nearly eight months, involving multiple support tickets, and fending off Telegram scammers pretending to be engineers to try to find someone who could help diagnose and solve my problem.

In July, after no progress had been made for close to half a year, I found the Blockstream booth while I was at the conference in Nashville. I started chatting with a friendly engineer named Randy about this problem, and we continued messaging for the next several weeks as he tried to look deeper into what was going on. The logs showed that the node connected to my app had gone hopelessly out of sync, and the best solution would be to close the channel, but the app wasn’t allowing me to do that. He suggested talking to someone on the Greenlight team at nostr:npub1jugar2agq6369p0l86razavs9shj2p6pscxecevs8j94ap37hkqsjlfc28 who would be able to close it from their end.

After nothing happened for a few more weeks, I politely pinged my friend nostr:npub17248hqdkw8j83gq383pu75fa4p42cfaf76dp5u3yec6lrtnej8asf65tfn last night, who was at that moment was on a flight from Singapore to Tokyo traveling between two conferences. She said I should talk to nostr:npub18jp8mdkytalxyg06zxdevpzwkxjpy9r2rat8gapgwnmmyejp3lps7edjnx, (proud new dad!) who in one day was able to finally get the channel closed, and allow me to finally complete the transaction I started back in January.

Thanks so much for your help. It’s not even about the money for me. I would have been able to move on if I had lost these sats, but my thoughts are with people around the world who need a reliable way to transact, free of censorship, and not worry that they will be stuck without access to their funds for long stretches of time. The new users, just discovering bitcoin, Lightning, Nostr, and other freedom technologies for the first time are the reason I feel so compelled to try all the things, break them, and try again.

💜⚡️🤙

That was very persistent and honorable of you.

Big love 🤘

I took pictures of some unusual lights over the Pacific Ocean southwest of Midway island over a year ago. Other pilots that I fly with have seen them too.

I made a donation to my Alma-mater North Central College’s coffee shop. Hope these books are read often.

Tonight I needed to get an Uber to get to O’Hare and I selected a shared ride to save a few bucks. There was a young Hispanic lady in the car. She was in school, had kids, and lived in an apartment. It was a short ride for her so I tried something new. I pulled up Bitcoin Rocks and told her to read this. (Bitcoin doesn’t have inflation but your money does) Her mouth dropped to the floor and was astounded. She asked me, do you do this? Yes I do. I said, think about it. Your money is already digital but the government can make as much of it as they want. But bitcoin is a fixed amount of digital currency. She got it pretty quick. I said it’s like digital gold and we talked for five minutes. I told her snap a picture of my phone( Bitcoin Rocks, God Bless Bitcoin, and my folder with my Bitcoin Apps) I told her to use River right before she got out of the car and she was so thankful.

I just learned Zaprite is the Quickbooks of Bitcoin. Thanks nostr:npub14mcddvsjsflnhgw7vxykz0ndfqj0rq04v7cjq5nnc95ftld0pv3shcfrlx for that explanation.

Yes! It’s a tool to force the citizens to use their currency otherwise if you don’t pay in the government’s currency, they threaten with prison.

Good morning. Northern lights over Anchorage.

If you got a link that would be awesome. I deployed to Afghanistan and also worked over there as a civilian. The contracts are huge money makers for businesses under LogCap IV. (Logistics Civil Augmentation).

See the shooting star?

Some shot from my trip this past week. Rainbow in Dover, DE, sunset over the North Atlantic Ocean, Orion constellation over Poland, and last is the sunrise over the Persian Gulf.

Nah, just trust the government. It’s for your safety. 😉

I believe the intent to break into the church, slowly. My old church encouraged Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace course, which my wife and I have done but then the church built a multi-million dollar addition and went into debt. Every sermon was begging for money. Practice what you preach, right?
