This week weâre talking about fluffing.
LEAVE YOUR BALLS ALONE.
âDonât fluff your ball in the rough.â
The rough is meant to penalize missing a fairway. If you fluff it and give yourself a better lie, itâs cheating. Straight up.
You also become a much better player if you learn to hit out of different lies. Your feel and touch will improve substantially. Plus itâs the rules, so, thereâs that. đ¤Ł
Respect the game. Donât fluff in the rough.

As golfers, we are quick to dwell on the bad shots we hit during the round. This can have a major impact on future rounds. Golf is 99% mental right?
The alternative is focusing on the good shots you hit. Take note of them right after they happen AND reminisce after the round.
Create a âgreatest hitsâ compilation in your mind that you can tap into when you need.
Focus on remembering the good ones instead of the bad.
It wonât be easy but with some practice and repetition this could help significantly in your mental game.

Had the pleasure of golfing Madge Lake over the weekend.
This was our first time there in a couple years and it was almost unrecognizable.
Granted, last time we were there it was VERY dry and probably a bad measuring stick. But either way, the course is in fantastic condition.
Lots of variety, some unique holes, beautiful Par 3s, and somewhat challenging.
If youâre driving the ball well, you can score! If youâre not, youâre in some trouble - especially with the leaves in the bushes.
Have you played Madge before? What was your experience like?

PUTTING TIP
This one comes from our mom, who happens to be one heck of a putter!
Her rule of thumb is that if you canât tell if a putt is going left or right, just hit it straight.
This tip has worked wonders through the years. Try it next time youâre out on the course and youâre a little indecisive on a putt.
And the most important aspect of this, and any shot, is full commitment.
