"We'll go down with the nasty, politically charged word slavery. Modern schooling, current schooling is about slavery. Oh, I can't say that. Yeah, I can. It's to create factory workers and people who don't question authority."
Mark Yusko for Wild Life - The Unschooling Podcast
It all started with having the same favorite book, went on with an invitation to my Wild Life #Unschooling #Podcast and this story will go on - creating peaceful decentralized, #worldschooling spaces!
"[...] The more I read about unschooling, the more sure I was that I was never going to send her to school. And it took a long time. Now she's almost seven, almost like, I say six years for me to actually know 100% in my heart that it's the right decision to not send her to school. Before that, it was like, yeah, we #homeschool. Let them think I'm teaching her at home, which I'm not doing. She learns all by herself. And then it was like unschooling and waiting for their reaction. And now it's like, no, she doesn't go to school. I would never do that to her. Now I'm at that point, it really was a long journey to get here, to actually be proud and 100% convinced that I could, and I wouldn't do it any other way."

#Bitcoin
I can hear the noise by looking at the picture, the same happend to my son
Good morning nostr humans,
reading all these beautiful posts here is part of my morning-routine ๐ง
and it helps me stay sane, focused and actually looking forward to our future.
#Bitcoin is hope
I know I'm repeating myself, but... if you love #decentralized money, you will love decentralized #education!
"See, #Bitcoin is quite disruptive, and I think it's the foundation of freedom that we need, because from what I've seen in the last five years, it was just a down going spiral of shit hitting the fan over and over again. And I really think bitcoin and #unschooling is the base or alternative education is the baseline of freedom. Because I think if you skip all these centralized systems and programs and offerings, and you just do it decentralized, you will go a long way. But in the end, you have the certainty that you're not falling into a trap of one central authority. And I see a lot of similarities between decentralized education and decentralized finance."

"One study with 232 participants by Peter Gray, a psychology professor at Boston College, found that around 83% of #unschoolers go on to pursue some form of higher education, with 44% completing at least a bachelor's degree (these included degrees at an even range of colleges, ranging from Ivy League universities to state schools). This is markedly better than the general population, with 66.9% for men and 71.3% for women pursuing higher education after high school. Unschoolers furthermore beat the general population in terms of college completion, which currently sits at 36.7% for men and 38.3% for women. In fact, the average #unschooling student starts taking college courses at the age of 16. Thus, it would seem that if we view unschooling as the default, the traditional school system slightlyย hurtsย rather thanย helpsย a child's ability to get into college and thrive once there."

"What are you going to produce? Telling kids to sit on squares and do what they're told? You're going to produce non-critical thinkers? Non. You know, people can't challenge authority. People can't think outside the box."

I had this incredible guest on Wild Life - The Unschooling Podcast - Sylvia Brinded-Pรผls - and we had a really eye-opening conversation about bonding.
School is not only school, it's co-parenting with the state. ๐ง
"When my son was born, and I was holding him for the first time, I was like, I feel like he's not going to go to #school. But I couldn't really tell why. It was just like he was so small, and so he was so tiny, and I couldn't imagine giving him away. And for everyone around me was super normal to give them away apart from six weeks to kindergarten. And I was like, okay, this is what I'm not going to do. He needs to come to university with me. I was still studying, and he was two weeks old when I got back to #university. And it went fine. He started walking and crawling, everything in the university. His first words were in German, his second words were in Arabic because I was studying Arabic and everyone loved him."
Let's make a difference, because #education can look so different than forced separation and strict curriculums! Fall with me into the #unschooling rabbit hole.

My new #podcast episode with Mark Yusko for Wild Life - The Unschooling Podcast is live! And I just LOVE the honesty of this man!
"So we go to the evaluation day. Alex, this makes me angry to think about. So this is a six-hour process for a four-year-old. 6 hours. We come back, and they debrief us. They're like, well, we noticed some behaviors in Will. What kind of behaviors? Well, William was having a really hard time sitting on his square, and I said, I'm out! A four year never ever. I don't want him ever sitting on a square. Not ever. And if that's what you think is the right way to teach, I'm out."

I love my grandma (and her chickens) with all my heart, but when I visit her in Germany, I feel like I'm slowly dying inside.
My son as well, counting the days to go back home. He says it's zombie-land.
Please, shill me your jungle-like safe places on this planet, I'm thinking about relocating from the Canary Islands <3
