today marks my official 2 years on #nostr
here are my 2 year stats
i started my npub completely ignorant to bitcoin. i just turned 22 years old, i had zero care for self sovereignty. bitcoin was at 22k on the day i joined.
originally i joined to see if this was an avenue for people in iran to be able to freely express themselves without fear of persecution from the regime. today, we have numerous of beautiful iranians here proving their freedom, despite the threat.
through the community i was taught bitcoin. regular people, just like me, took time to teach me about self sovereignty, not because they were getting anything out of it, but because they genuinely believe in its value to the world.
seeing the enthusiasm of these kind people made me enthusiastic. that first week, i decided to buy my first bitcoin on nostr:npub1cashappn03s3cl2ljsdntv0v28e2um5lgx4vjctqjt23pcwzjhsqmtdg5l.
Now, my life has changed for the better because of it. Because of nostr, because of the PEOPLE of nostr.
thank you to everyone on here who has showed me the kindness i never felt or seen on the internet , despite being raised online. there are far too many people to count.

The award should have been given by someone that’s beyonces elder of any race. Having it be Taylor, “giving” her something, makes it this deferential nonsense that happens here all the time in the US. The hosts could’ve chosen anyone to do the announce, and Taylor could’ve announced elsewhere for something else too.

Repin was born in the Ukrainian town of Chuhuiv when it was part of the Russian Empire. He went on to become a major progressive painter. In the early 1880s, he met Garshin, an acclaimed writer who shared his concern for contemporary political and social problems. Repin made several portraits in this decade of artists in his orbit in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The rich tonal contrasts and lush brushwork are indebted to art he saw while studying in Paris.
