We need to make sharded nsecs the default for Nostr.

Amethyst partially signs with its share of the nsec and sends to Amber. Amber can only finish the signature or reject. Amber should not be able to reassemble the nsec from any event from Amethyst (or any other app).

Now repeat this for every single Nostr app.

No single app has the full nsec. The only way to "leak" an nsec is to break into the code of both apps at the same time.

Frost does that. But for singing only.

We also need sharded encryption and decryption schemes.

Finding new ways to organize land ownership is key to enable long lasting low time preference collaborative land stewardship. I don't see the multi-generational family farm that is connected and comitted to a land. Nowadays everyone is individualistic dynamicly free flowing adhoc spontaneous life paths. So how can we create the incentives to plant chestnut and oak trees which take a few hundred years to achieve their full yield?

big parser doesn't want you to know that building parsers is actually incredibly easy. for some reason parsers are scary to programmers.

here's a parser I just built that takes a list of text tokens out of visa pdf statements and converts them to ledger-cli (plain text accounting) format... because apparently csv exports from my bank is too much to ask for.

the basic idea is that you have one large array of strings extracted from the pdf. this is an unreadable stream of unstructured text chunks called tokens.

for each token you see if you can parse the next N tokens into a transaction line item. if it fails you just advance the parser by one and try again. if it succeeds then the parser would have eaten all of the tokens it needed so it can continue from there.

you can build this kind of parser in *any* language, it would look identical. it's just a few simple functions and data.

after doing these kinds of things at a record label for 6 years I'm convinced that accounting is more of a software engineering job, can't imagine going through pdfs manually each month.

I'm not sure what the point of this post was other than to say I like parsing things and that banks suck.

Really interesting thoughts. Getting into flow state more reliably often is the superpower. Some of the content I follow on #nostr is quite technical and work related. It could help to prime my mind helping to tune in in the warm up phase but there is also a lot of content that distracts and pulls me out of flow. I wonder how I could use #nostr better, as a tool to cultivate deep flow.

So, having a unidirectional channel to a mint reduces the exposure to custodial risk without the complexities of running a lightning node. No need for liveliness vigilance and incremental backups. Its almost like sending a lightning payment where the first hop is custodial but adds more privacy through time decorellation and blinding. Or receiving a lightning payment where the last hop is custodial but always online s.t. zaps can be received while offline.
