Neanderthal hacking on Bitcoin stuff. LNHANCE please!

Has anyone compiled a CTV summary site? I remember someone compiled a survey of thought leaders' opinions on CTV, but while that could be part of what I'm imagining, I'm thinking about a page that addresses key objections, tries to exhaustively list applications, links to WIP implementations, etc.

I'm pretty much on board already (I could actually benefit from CTV for one of my projects today), I just need to be convinced we've delved the unknown-unknowns well enough.

I was hoping to rebroadcast a post with my new list of preferred relays, but it's not clear if that's what it did (It didn't really look like it).

My favorite nostr feature is not knowing if your WoT score is high enough for the intended recipient to even see your message...

Do you guys throw opensats applications without references right in the trash? I was very much a lurker in the bitcoin space for over a decade before I finally got off my rear last year (thanks rust-bitcoin and bdk!). While I've interacted with plenty of people, and made some public contributions, most of my community interaction is non-technical. I have a day job so it's unfortunately pretty minimal in terms of relationship building with people who can vouch for my work.

Merry Christmas, nostriches!

It seems (to my semi-layperson eyes) that it shouldn't, there's no HLS or similar support, yet it does.

How does seeking work? It seems to work, but from what little I know about video content delivery, it seems like it shouldn't. I expected something like HLS but that doesn't *seem* to be going on.

twitter is having a moment, lfg!!

I still think label based communities are a better model than nip-72

OP_RETURNs of arbitary size are consensus valid, simply nonstandard (won't get relayed by normal nodes). You could also easily design a scheme where a monkey jpeg is split across multiple transactions, too, and it would be valid AND standard, but again it would be pretty inefficient.

OP_RETURN does exactly this, intentionally. Current methods are just cheaper in terms of fees.

don't let 'em get you with teaser prices, I'm holding onto useless domains at $20/yr because I got attached when I bought them lol

I'm much, much, much more amenable to his fee smoothing proposal than this crap.

Proving that (for a certain model of coin loss, which may well be incorrect) supply converges to *some number* does not tell us anything useful at all about total supply dilution, it could dilute all the way to 21billion for all we know.

It's also wildly implausible that tail emission would provide both a sufficient security budget, and low monetary inflation, let alone under a majority of market conditions. $175 million sounds like a lot until you realize that's only 2 or 3 day's worth of revenue currently, or like 10 days worth of revenue near the low end of this chart https://ycharts.com/indicators/bitcoin_miners_revenue_per_day

This of course is counting the current block subsidy, but that's my point, EITHER the tail emission is an insignificant additional subsidy, OR it's very significant, in which case that means bitcoin will have a vastly reduced security budget from what it has today.

I wouldn't mind optional, encrypted notes posted to nostr, maybe infrequently, or only at user request. That would help support drafting on multiple devices (start drafting on your phone at lunch, finish at home on PC or something).
