LNBeats.com is where I go to discover new decentralized music (DeMu) and I have it downloaded as a PWA on my phone. Podcast Guru is my main Podcasting 2.0 app, but I also use Podverse and Fountain. I recommend trying multiple from the list of Podcasting 2.0 apps: https://podcastindex.org/apps

Just for info, there is already Wavlake. They accept zaps and accounts are based on NOSTR: https://wavlake.com/

The app for the phone works really good, I use it often to scrooble and find new artists.

Unfortunately Wavlake doesn't surface self-hosted RSS feeds and doesn't allow artists to implement infinite value splits since they are custodial of the artist's value. Pretty UI though. It's kinda like Spotify 2.0 so I steer clear lol BUT you can hear EVERY Wavlake artist on ANY Podcasting 2.0 app and still send them sats.... Err well of course you are sending your sats to Wavlake and trusting they give 90% plus your message to the artist...

I believe providing artists, content creators, and merchants with the tools they need to connect with their audiences and publish/monetize/sell their work on nostr is where devs have a good chance of becoming more financially sustainable. Most people aren’t going to flock to a new social app to support their favorite devs (as much as I love and admire you devs, think how ridiculous that sounds anyway), but I believe many people would flock to a new social app to connect with and support their favorite artists/creators/writers. Provide an easy and streamlined way for creators to do their work and monetize it, and charge creators a fee, or take an agreed-upon split of zaps/payments, to access those premium features and analytics geared toward helping them with their business. Nostr is preferable to traditional content platforms because it mitigates the risks of middlemen having too much control over your content or seizing your “means of production” so to speak by banning or shadowbanning you, and coupled with bitcoin payments it further mitigates the risks associated with centralized payment systems. There are good generic social clients on each OS, but I believe there needs to be more specialization by enabling/empowering creators and entrepreneurs. This ought to become the primary focus of these social apps, because that in turn can drive more economic activity and user growth.

For starters, if the artist has a website, they can self-host their art on an RSS feed, share that URL with the Podcast Index and be propagated to EVERY Podcasting 2.0 app out there including Fountain which of course shares here to Nostr. Video is enabled.

There are DeMu (decentralized music) artists out there already having great success, like the selfhosted performers who pulled in 2 MILLION sats last Sunday during the v4v Battle of the Bands known as The Satellite Skirmish. No platforms required, just protocols and people.

RSS is a straightforward protocol with the P20 namespace allowing infinite value splits to be added and paid via keysend, plus there's a handy template with comments they could copy when initially setting up:

Frankiepaint pulled a bunch to use as preshow material for a Pc 2.0 concert we did back in April. There’s at least an hour for sure with more out where definitely. I think StevenB is or is planning on adding video to LNBeats so they’ll surface there.

Both nostr:npub1l9juac5peq44x2mmpylfhnctxm9ymj5u8wtxs6zvm3k7rtm7wfvqx2jwcg and I are also wanting to be an audio podcast that can push mp4s thru live feeds. That way you can be a music podcast that is audio only, but with chapter magic you can load up a chapter from say example the Sat Skirmish and play a snippet of video.

Problem is you've got centralized places like Pootube that'll handle the streaming and hosting of videos (at low quality, of course, but FREE) with a simple click or drag n' drop while RSS requires figuring it out on your own. Turns out, that's a big barrier for people lol

Wow. I think people are sleeping on how cool this is. This is a podcast 2.0 feed, containing a url callout for a video.

In podverse for example, the video plays just fine. This is like self hosted youtube channels. (OK granted it's using cloudflare for the CDN but it's very difficult to host video without a CDN these days peoperly).

So this video is fully boost able, just like a podcast or song.

This is probably obvious to lot of people out there, but this is a 💡moment for me.
