**The Three Generations Theory: How Bitcoin Reaches Mass Adoption in 60 Years**, by Alex Svetski

*"Whether Bitcoiners like it or not, large-scale Bitcoin adoption is not coming this decade or next. It’s simply going to take a number of generations to filter into society."*

I've been a believer that Bitcoin's adoption will continue to grow at a pace like (or even a little faster than) the internet. While the numbers of Bitcoin users may grow at that pace, that is not the same as full adoption. As Alex Svetski points out in this piece, we need to *"recognize that Bitcoin is a multi-generational phenomenon. It’s not Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, a smartphone, PayPal, Visa, a stock or a mere commodity. It’s so much bigger than all of these combined and, because of how fundamentally significant this is, it will take people* ***time***Β *to adopt it."*

Bitcoin is not only an new technology, like the internet, which people merely needed to adopt; it's *money* which affects us physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually. The internet is allowing information to be stored and transfered freely (and it still has a long way to go). This is vital, but data is cheap, and can be easily copied, so the process of adapting to informational freedom is trivial. But Bitcoin is allowing *value* to be stored and transfered freely, so it affects everything far more than the internet ever could, and requires us to fully change ourselves to ever really adopt it. Because of that, *full* adoption -- with a widespread Bitcoiner mindset of low time preference, integrity, humility, truth-seeking, etc -- will take *generations* to be fully realized, not years.

*"Our generation has bestowed upon us both the gift of being the founding fathers of a new world, and the curse of enduring clown world for this privilege. While we may not get to really enjoy the fruits of this labor, we will have been the generation that goes down in the history books as the one that changed it all.*

*I don’t know about you, but that’s a trade off worth making."* -Alex Svetski

That trade off is absolutely worth it to me. That's why I'm a Bitcoiner.

**Bitcoin Fixes This**

A poem, by Jason Sellers

For thousands of years,

Through blood, sweat and tears,

Humanity labored and grew.

We traded the fruits

Of hard-won pursuits,

When desires matched between two.

But then we soon found,

From deep in the ground,

Metal the color of honey.

With this we could trade

For anything made.

We called this invention "money".

This tool now in hand,

We tended the land,

And bought and sold with our neighbor.

This medium was

So precious because

It had to be mined with labor.

But as nations spread,

And wars made men dead,

Those in thrones were tempted by greed.

Not much could be spent,

Or on journeys sent,

To lands far away in great need.

A scheme was then made

For people to trade

Their hard-earned money for paper.

More easy to hold

Than silver or gold,

But its value soon would taper.

In '71,

Like out of a gun,

Nixon cut the dollar from gold.

From this single change

Would life rearrange,

To be worse for all, young and old.

All prices increased,

And savings were least

For those who were greatest in need.

And they in control

Could reach their great goal

To enslave and make the world bleed.

What was to be done

When father and son

Cared not for a time but today?

All manner of waste,

And unyielding haste,

Ruled over us, blocking our way.

Then someone unknown,

And with humble tone,

Shared a plan to put it all right.

Eight pages explained

A money ordained

To free us from our awful plight.

Nobody controls

Or sets their own goals

For this money that all can hold.

We each can rely

On its scarce supply,

And know that its truth will be told.

But some saw a chance

-- Their greed to advance --

To make some new coins of their own.

Each one of them fail,

For all of them pale

Next to the one harder than stone.

The future is β‚Ώright,

For hope is in sight,

Regardless of all that's amiss.

For whether it's war,

Poverty and more,

We can say *"Bitcoin fixes this!"*

Banks and the US Gov have also been buying up BTC like crazy. #Bitcoin

That meme is a few years old. Just over the COVID Pandemic, the user base of BTC grew to over 1 Billion.

I see nothing but enormous adoption and MASSIVE price increases of BTC in the future.

This is the future we have dreamed of #Bitcoin #Nostr πŸ’œ
