hmm, I think my stop script was the problem. using lightning-cli stop now
tried your new code. runs into 30sek timeout and gets killed. but in total it works :)

no, chainstate is about 5GB right now
simple trick to speed it up is to put the chainstate dir on a ramdisk. but don't forget to put it on real storage once you're done
