Humans make mistakes.

So do machines, but probably less.

Good morning!

My big girl is about to pop any day now.

She's moved into the round pen to have space and a clean soft surface for foaling.

Her name is Zuca.

Morning peeps!

Have a good week!

It wasn't quite the Sunday I had envisioned when I woke up this morning...

First, my daughter got dumped in the mud by one of the horses I had deemed safe and solid enough to carry her up the hill, from their night stall to their daytime paddock. An easy ask, but apparently I had misjudged the situation.

Next, my highly pregnant mare, about to give birth any moment now, decided to get tangled up in some ropes in a really stupid fashion and almost got herself into serious trouble. To cut a long story short, she got away with some minor scratches - by the grace of god!

Around lunch time I receive a voice note from a friend. His goat is beyond help (she had suffered severe injuries from a dog attack a while ago, and struggled to recover despite veterinary intervention), and needs to be put out off misery immediately.

Ok. I'm the one to call for that. I get it.

But to make matters worse, my mum asked me to process the goat, so at least we could use her for dog feed - reasonable enough, just not quite what I had in mind for my Sunday afternoon.. especially as I don't even own dogs myself.

In the Chinese calendar, this is the Year of the Snake! Don’t worry, it’s nothing to fear, but it’s something we can be aware of energetically. We can learn to feel how energy is moving around us in this Year of the Snake and take these beautiful opportunities to grow and shine. The snake has a way of flowing and moving smoothly, yet it does so with an intelligent strategy. So as you moved out of the Year of the Dragon (the year of “go go go”, “do do do”), you might find that things have abruptly stopped for you, and there’s been a recent a change in the air around you, as the energy of Year of the Snake winds into your life.

This is a wonderful time for you to take some time to look back at everything you have accomplished over time, and take stock of where you want to go, and why you want to go in that direction. This kind of planning and strategizing is self-empowering and self-loving. When you slow down, and feel your way into the loving, feminine, calm energies of the Year of the Snake, you might just be surprised at what new challenges and experiences you might be willing to accept!
