I made damus, npubs, and zaps ⚡️ Independent bitcoin core and lightning dev.

Haha yay ! I was thinking it could just autocomplete from your contact list to start and then we can expand that to friend of friends and nip05 later.

Seems to come and go 🤔

Noticed that too

Yup it is now thanks to jack

will work on autocomplete mentions after nip05... maybe someone can beat me to it!?

We're going to add a wallet selector

Pushing that feature out now

Gonna need to add pagination to jack’s follower list haha. I’ve disabled the auto-fetching of followers since going to his profile just breaks things now.

if people put illegal stuff in their pfps and send it to relays, it would make it harder to run relays legally without lots of work to moderate images. I think relays should reject large profile sizes.

if nostr is abused this way then relays will have to do content moderation on images, I would rather not go down that rabbit hole.

I don't support it, I'm not a fan of people storing data like this in notes

Of course, damus supports inline pictures of people you follow

it’s with your pubkey (converted with https://damus.io/key)

I’ve never seen so many people get excited about a profile editor 😆

fixed the crash yesterday, will push out with the profile editor sometime today

Welcome back!

For power users yeah. I plan on adding lnsocket support to damus so lightning tips are done via your own node. After that there can just be some default custodial node that it connects to using similar protocols/apis except in it manages distinct accounts. I was working on a rust CLN plugin at one point that handles this via nostr-keyed accounts, but then I realized that would incentivize people to hack nostr keys to get into the damus wallet, so not sure if I want to do that.

Will be in next update with the profile editor

I have a plan on how to do this in a way that would show a tally. Would be much cooler than a plain bolt11

ugh that’s annoying…. Looks like you have to type something first =/

I remember watching an anime (forget the name) and there was this internet chat app where a bubble would appear and chat bubbles would start to bubble off of it. eventually you could zoom out to see a huge 2d-plane of discussions, where everytime a new chat appeared the entire thing would get bigger as a whole. It was a cool way to visualize multi-threaded discussions that was different than the typical tree-like or linear structures.

I've always wanted to make something like that, nostr might be an interesting protocol to try it on.

did alby nostr break? it seems to hang at getPublicKey?

hey Thomas, what brings you to nostr?
