I'll let you all in on a deep dark secret:
Bitcoiners aren't actually terrible people that hate fun.
We're just really, really tired of watching well-intentioned, passionate people getting yoinked into the exact same scams we once did, and also like we did, become instantaneously filled with confidence that "this altcoin is different!"
It's not.
Every crypto token, from number 20,000 on the marketcap rankings all the way up to #Ethereum, is just a glorified reincarnation of fiat, where a centralized entity (CEO, dev team, foundation, etc.) has copy/pasted #Bitcoin's code, added a few tweaks to make sure they can award themselves free units and the power to change the monetary policy whenever they want, and plastered "DECENTRALIZED!" all over their website despite being anything but.
A currency that has no consensus monetary policy, which can be (and is) changed all the time by a central authority, does not solve anything. It just replaces the central bankers of the traditional system with a fancy new flavor of fiat lord: the incompetent-yet-charismatic nerdguy who follows the orders of whichever VC puppetmaster funded him.
And now that all of these create-your-own-central-bank projects have transitioned to #ProofOfStake, the consolidation of power will even further accelerate, as those who started the game with the majority of the tokens out of the gate can sit on their stack and suck up allllll the voting power necessary to push through the aforementioned changes that enrich the top holders.
Rinse and repeat, until there are no more lemmings left to throw their fiat cuckbucks into the void.

Fiat currencies like #ETH have been attempted for hundreds of years, and they've never worked. Not once. So why are people suddenly getting excited about them now that they have a fancy logo and cartoon monkeys hyping them up?
In a sentence: great marketing, ever-louder megaphones atop Mt. Stupid, and a glaring lack of monetary history due diligence.
#Bitcoin was created specifically to alleviate all of the problems explained above:
-No leader
-No proof-of-stake funneling of manipulation abilities to the rich
-Completely fixed monetary policy (21M cap, 10min blocks, halving every 210,000 blocks until cap is reached)
-Not trying to fulfill a hundred different "utilities" that can just be done better with a normal database
Simple, beautiful, immutable...and the most revolutionary catalyst for human freedom any of us has seen in our lifetimes...perhaps in our species' history, considering how critical of a role money has played in every society since the earliest bonebags were slangin' seashells for chickens and mud huts.
So yes, when a new class of .eths shows up every year thinking that storing JPEG hyperlinks on Vitalik's inefficient database is the greatest thing of all time, then fills the public discourse with regurgitated altcoin marketing drivel to further confuse the general public into thinking Bitcoin is a degenerate gambling toy, many of us will be very blunt in our dismissal of your claims.
