I thought buying some bagels and cream cheese for home was a good idea. It was not. I'm about to eat my third meal in a row of bagel and cream cheese.
First official FAB! (Beatles tribute) full band rehearsal tonight! I can’t wait for April 12 at El Mercado to show you all what we are working on! https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/8fe5844988648e445f39124f47eaeccb79c3cff9ba6cd22dd7211f5e7e7e5d1c.webp
Musings based on the great music they were playing in HEB. https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/3c9bc0aebcd94ee544228495f0ab4525398bdf885ac04f0f13b5538380edaa8b.webp
Thanks but no thanks! Weirdly the fact that my FB is NOT verified is the only way to tell that I didn’t pay for my IG verification (since if you pay for it, that applies to IG and FB). https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/b936717aba614ad669355efbb085d901ca61ed2eaed1952067cc1e5cc94a0e38.webp
To this day I wonder how “bat shit crazy” became a saying when “guano loco” was right there.
Just watched episode 2 of "SNL50," the 4 part behind the scenes documentary on SNL, and that weekly process is INSANE. It's a miracle that show happens at all every week.
Some fun photos from the Brass In Pocket show Sunday at Warehouse Live. Thanks to Kelly Casey and Aleida Vangeli for the photos. Took my Reverend Guitars Crosscut for this show and it never disappoints! And as always my Line 6 Helix straight to the house! https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/c747c73d951d9e026695a87c3f29a99aa83e87a153c7b4975246106cc1aa4cb5.webp https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/9bf8f2a2963423c7468edf10955f6b4ee93f74906acf0988ceb74b30c559d851.webp https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/1d9fef5d4ea37db0009169f96925d04e904458eb484e8f5c1f1f1981641d990a.webp
Sometimes as a natural night owl anyway, in times like this (winter storm in Austin) part of me wants to stay up like some kind of guard watching over you all, even though there's not a damn thing I can do about it.
Sometimes you get a dumb idea for a photo and you just have to do it even though it’s a huge PITA. #guitar #bass #keyboard https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/cfa58d9c5ae9267625ec4e37da4cdd2bb479e56629984064ee25a5602cb70b5c.webp
Obviously check for yourself, but no FB did not have me auto follow the orange dictator. I'm not saying it hasn't happened to other people, I just think now more than ever truth is important and I've seen "FB had ALL USERS auto-following him" which was definitely not true for me.
In honor of the late John Sykes I recommend listening to “Valley of the Kings” and “Jellyroll” off of Blue Murder’s self titled album. My 2 favorites. Epic.
Just learned that guitarist John Sykes died. He was amazing. He was the guitarist on the recording of that first huge Whitesnake album but was fired before the release so many don’t know him. He then fronted Blue Murder and was a great singer as well. I loved that album. A virtuoso.
I’m pretty sure the man who I shall only refer to as cybercuck just invented the nazi dab. A horrific abomination of fascism and annoying trend all in one.
Just remember that “Divide and conquer” is a time tested winning strategy. Don’t get divided from your people. Or for my RPG playing friends, never split the party!
First outing of the purple velveteen pants. https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/330ab8fc30391be4561bf7f03ff99f3d875660f39623c55c94071bdb28a69125/71a0cfdc04716c1d56edea53a1f41457e07990cc2deb98af2165234125d9f681.webp
Fellow musicians, take some time to listen to and/or play something for fun that you are NOT working on for a project. Something just for you.
Last night I was unusually sleepy at 11pm, super early for me, but I went with it. Woke up at 2am. Back to sleep at 4am. Woke up at 11am, but still felt tired so went back to sleep until 3pm. Tomorrow, I have to leave at 8am for an afternoon gig in Houston so tonight should be really interesting.
