ECashAct.us

The bill directs the Secretary of the Treasury to develop and pilot digital dollar technologies that replicate the "privacy-respecting" features of physical cash

They're using it to push fedimints compatibility, effectively forking the network.

It has no grassroots dev, just salaried and smug a-holes cashing checks from the spooks at Spiral and Blockstream. (and CIA money via the HRF)

Well-funded groups on the digital dollar RFP, per the ECash Act floated around Congress 🫰

It will also make UX slow and unreliable because of it's Tor-like dependency, hurting adoption.

The only mitigation for the performance tradeoffs is to turn lightning into a cloud-first centralized network, like greenlight.

It doesn't add any capabilities that aren't done better with other proposals, which they gaslight ad infinitum.

It's like they want to do things the worst way possible.

Bad actors, bad tech, bad outcomes.

Unpopular opinion:

Bitcoin and Lightning projects have increasingly thin skin, and would benefit from a period of black papers more than white papers.

Bolt12 might actually be great for cloud nodes that only need to communicate with other nodes in the same cloud without regard for latency and uptime.

Go ahead, give it the "Greenlight".

Why is your butt so hurt? You're basically doing full cloud at this point with the proxy and vss.

Or just quit doing dumb shit like mobile nodes.

Considered writing a black paper, but it seems a wiser use of time to just let sheep learn the hard way that it's every bit as broken as Tor.

Trying out the nip07 browsers extension...

These are an absolute disaster and not sustainable for growth.

Where are my delegation maxis? I think we can build helpers on top of nip26.

Much of the ECash scam comes from the fact that any major custodian is already "MultiSig" with varied stakeholders, and that this somehow makes it a layer upon Bitcoin.

Coinbase Custody uses a MultiSig vault with several overseeing stakeholders including regulators. Is that a Bitcoin layer if we also ECash on it?

Is it really any more private when they're a in and out hop in your coin movements?

All you've done with software is codify a fiat political system that's still inherently susceptible to human weakness.

These ECash projects aren't getting tens of millions in sus VC money, and backesld by "Russia Man Bad" NGO spooks like the HRF.

Think logically. Just skim the ECash act. Connect the dots to Bolt12 and Blockstream.

These projects are astroturfing the next CBDC/Digital Dollar and attacking/exploiting lightnings traction to do it.

Don't give up on Uncle Jim.
