I've read it and it's a good thesis, but I found the book tedious and repetitive. It was published in the 1990s, before we had entered the current fourth turning that we are living through right now, so it was mainly predictive. It is probably common knowledge now since we are living it! I just saw that this new book on the fourth turning will be coming out soon and I do look forward to reading it: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Fourth-Turning-Is-Here/Neil-Howe/9781982173739
That was what I suspected, I feel like I know and processed the thesis already, will probably skim through it nonetheless.
Who has read"the Fourth turning" ? Is it book you would recommend to a Bitcoiner or is it mainly already common knowledge under Bitcoiners?

I'm puzzled, will the zapping be within 24hours?
I applaud Peter's effort but I reckon this can be done a lot quicker

But send them money if you really agree with them

Seeing turmoil around Gensler, SEC, ETH as a security, i was wondering:
What is the least that will happen to ETH and its ecosystem IF ETH is declared (unregulated) security by SEC? What is likely to happen or follow if thats the case? What would be the heaviest possible consequence?
I'm reading something about exchanges needing stockbrokerlicense to continue to offer ETH. I'm guessing soms fines will be dealt out to those involved, but after paying off the fines, can ETH continue as before? Will there be a (lengthy) courtcase like XRP?
Anyone here with an informed take on this? (Can anyone know or would they need an orb?)
This is why I'm bullish on Cashu/Fedi and even more bullish on Bitcoin!

I dont use google photos so not sure, but like browsers have button 'reopen last session' where it remembers and opens the tabs you closed last time, but then for going to point in feed corresponding to time of the note you last opened.
So note1 was made at 18:37h, I open it, close the app. When I go back, open the app hours later, (inadvertently) check something from now, I then want to read back the notes from 18:37 up until the current notes, oldest first.

Is it possible to add some extra functionality or features about navigating to a certain timepoint in your feed? Some kind of 'History' or log. Like logging the time of the last viewed event, to be able to move back to that point in (time in) your feed where you were scrolling before selecting that note, when last opening app, or navigating back to specifically yesterday 6 o'clock when you started drunkenly scrolling notes without really noticing?
I notice i sometimes inadvertently start in the 'now' of my feed and have to determine where I stopped reading
Could a part of the captcha also be doing some work rating and janitoring the "flagged as spam"/""sensitive content" inbox of your relay? As somekind of pre-filter
Good read! Chuckled at "English, do you speak it"
Added on quite a bit to my blog post, fleshed out the next steps for me a bit, and linked out properly to many of the resources and tools mentioned:
https://sethforprivacy.com/posts/why-i-focus-on-bitcoin/
Have enjoyed the back and forth with everyone, has made for lively conversations 🙂
Would love to hear more from y'all what you're most excited or curious about in the Bitcoin privacy space in the replies 🤔
Most exciting projects I can think of atm are Chaumian Ecash systems like Fedimint and especially Cashu.
(For more info see: https://docs.cashu.space/ )
It does have tradeoffs but is just so easy to transact with it, while being quite private. Also implementing it gets easier and easier and it keeps getting more usecases, zo i can really see this taking off. Example: https://nitter.at/callebtc/status/1632076885441085445#m

Probably ways to circumvent that, but main thing is I don't think punishment works when trying to find the best content, because it rewards conservative choices and best content is surprising, varying wildly.
If you have the top most surprising, radical, possibly good content the voting could select for most appealing to the broadest base. Like reddit memes from 4chan memes.
I think curation wouldnt work, you just vote with your hivemind or wait for it tot swing decisevely before voting. It all becomes middle of the road
