There are worthless things that people pay lots of money for all the time. My advice to you is to learn a skill instead of trying to explain technology you clearly don’t actually understand.

I look forward to Bitcoin’s inevitable collapse when people realize it’s unusable trash.

Never bought any since it’s too volatile to use as a currency. What use could it possibly serve? It’s so expensive and slow to transact with that you need an entire extra layer to make it resemble a usable transaction medium - surely I don’t need to tell you that extra complication usually results in reduced security. The alternatives are superior because at least some of them are useful for something right now.

I’ve changed my mind: Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme, I can tell by how desperate you are sell me on it. It’s a scam and you made that clear to me. You fail to even recognize where alternatives are comparable, either because you’re functionally retarded or because you’re trying to scam me.

I was saying that lightning was effectively an intermediary by normal definitions. But I came to realize that you were using a different definition, because in your retarded mind somehow Bitcoin has special voodoo that makes it unique even though none of the attributes - other than being the oldest one - are unique to Bitcoin. You misunderstood me on two whole levels dipshit. Learn to read before you post online.

I’d suggest the same. You seem sheltered. Just asking you to justify your statements got you to throw insults at me with reckless abandon.

I wouldn’t trust any ETH tokens long term.

You sound like someone desperately trying to justify to themselves that they didn’t buy into a scam. I don’t think Bitcoin is a scam, it’s too old for that to be likely - but you read like a cultist. Check your messages, you basically just make wild claims that don’t align with the apparent reality and then pretend like you explained anything. Maybe you should check yourself before you start implying other people are retarded.

Someone who isn’t cooking at room temperature.

You’ll need to justify most of what you just said.

Okay. So basically, nothing you’ve brought up is unique to Bitcoin. I could mine the other coins too and totally avoid KYC.

Good luck finding a place to buy Bitcoin without KYC. Even better, let me know how it goes when they blacklist your coins.

But KYC only comes in when you exchange money for crypto - not when you’re exchanging crypto for goods and services. This problem impacts Bitcoin as much as any of them. In fact there are coins out there with better privacy like monero for example which helps mitigate the consequences of KYC.

That last question is weird, I laugh at a lot of things but I don’t know how to describe the general trend of that content. The real issue is I don’t see anyone even trying.

Sounds like literally any other crypto to me. They’re all distributed networks, that’s the point. So unless you’re using some novel definition of the word “intermediary”, Bitcoin and lightning aren’t any better than anything else - at least on that specific front.

Also, this issue seems client agnostic. It’s all slow and all prone to spam. I don’t mind cli, I spend a lot of my time in the terminal, it’s the loading times that are out of control. And all just to see a bunch of Chinese spam and Bitcoin maxis proselytize to each other. I haven’t seen one funny thing here, except perhaps the meta humor of the platform as a whole.

Like I said, I’m not going to write it off entirely, but there needs to be more on the table for me to start recommending it to people.

So you’re saying it takes more effort user-side than alternatives like the fediverse and scuttlebutt. I like the idea, but the execution is atrocious so far.

Also, what is the lightning network if not an intermediary? The only valid reason for not having other coins is coding hours, which they obviously need to direct towards making the network actually work on a consistent basis.

I’ll check in to see how it’s going from here on but I’m not impressed so far.

An interesting feature, but why just Bitcoin? Also, it barely matters if most of the content here is spam that’s difficult to filter. Who’s gonna stick around long enough to pay you?

This place sucks.

Why is your bio and entire post history just this string of text over and over again?

All I see are the same 3 posts over and over again. What’s the point?
