We have another new exciting offering for Summer 2024, a 4 day guided hiking adventure out of the Dave Henry Lodge! When out in the hills or around town, you might find our guides sporting snazzy socks from MtSocks. The "cold storage" design seemed a good choice today with snow on the ground and wintery temperatures all around!
We accept #bitcoin and #lightning for our guided backpacking adventures in the #CanadianRockies. Visit our website and send us a message today if interested, custom trips and dates are available!

Next summer we are going to be running several guided backcountry adventures exclusively for bitcoiners as part of our #StackSatsStackSteps initiative (a great way to get your #proofofwalk out in the Canadian Rockies).
The first adventure will be a 3 day (August 2-4th) trip along the Fiddle River Trail over the scenic heights of Fiddle Pass and crossing through Whitehorse Wildland Provincial Park. See here for more details. https://starrysummit.ca/backpacking/fiddle-river-traverse
The cost for this trip is 0.014 BTC and our adventures include all park fees, guiding, catering, group camping equipment and transportation to/from the trailheads from the Jasper Townsite. Contact us for more details, we are the only guiding company in the Canadian Rockies to accept payment in #bitcoin and #lightning.
Our lead guide Ben Nearingburg has a new book coming out this spring. Look for Popular Day Hikes: Jasper, Robson, Valemount and the Yellowhead Highway to hit the shelves in May! When the book is released in May you can purchase it via #lightning or #bitcoin direct from our website.

Looks to be a sunny and warm week ahead of us in the Canadian Rockies. A perfect time for a valley-bottom stroll or alpine snowshoe. Don't forget your sunscreen and a tasty thermos of tea! #MyJasper #CanadianRockies

A few backpacking trips are starting to appear on our Summer 2024 schedule (https://starrysummit.ca/backpacking).
Take a look for dates of the:
-Fiddle River Trail (July 11-14, July 18-21)
-Blue Creek Loop (August 7-16)
-North Boundary Trail (September 6-17, with only 2 spaces remaining!)
Our adventures range from introductory rambles to lengthy expeditions and include all food and group camping equipment. We proudly accept #bitcoin and #lightning for all of our guided adventures. #StackSatsStackSteps
We'll have some new offerings to announce in early 2024, stay tuned!

Over the next few weeks we'll be releasing new limited edition photography in our Shifting Seasons Sequence, showcasing Jasper throughout the year. Here is a teaser of the tranquil water (and ice) of Wabasso Lake. Keep an eye on our photography page, all prints are limited to 3 prints and we proudly accept #bitcoin and #lightning https://starrysummit.ca/photography/current #MyJasper #CanadianRockies #Photography

We'll be pausing today to stop and reflect on the sacrifices of those who have allowed us to live freely and roam the hills. #LestWeForget #MyJasper

Back from a few days of early-season snowshoeing in the Cariboo Mountains. November is a great time of year to train for ski season and to brush up on avalanche rescue skills. If you have not done so already it is time to dust off your avalanche shovel and probe, and practice with your avi-transceiver. #Snowshoeing #Photography

Our lead guide, Ben Nearingburg, was featured here in an article discussing past and future use of the backcountry warden cabins across Jasper National Park; these storied structures hold many memories for visitors, wardens, and their families. #MyJasper #CanadianRockies https://cbc.ca/amp/1.7018074
The fresh snow yesterday in Jasper was perfect for making snowmen! Lakes have started to freeze, snow is covering campsites, and bears are settling down for a long winter's nap. Heres looking forward to a snowy winter and a great summer 2024 to come! #MyJasper #CanadianRockies #Photography

Timelapses are some of the best ways to take advantage of the dark skies in the Canadian Rockies, especially when the starry sky is combined with aurora! Here is a scene from a ski-traverse in Mount Robson Provincial Park. Stay tooned for more guided backpacking and photography offerings in Robson Park next summer! https://starrysummit.ca/ #JasperDarkSkyFestival #MyJasper #CanadianRockies #Photography #BackcountrySkiing

Another starry photo for Jasper's Dark Sky Festival. This image was taken on the north end of the Columbia Icefield in Jasper National Park as part of a ski-mountaineering trip, and the two peaks of Mount Stutfield can be seen with aurora above. #MyJasper #CanadianRockies #Auroraborealis #Photography

It would be amazing to have a serious debate between that orange Bitcoin and Gensler.
Carrying on with featuring some of our starry images to coincide with Jasper's Dark Sky Festival, this image shows a chilly view of Miette Pass (on the AB/BC border) with aurora above. Jasper has over 11000 square km of dark sky preserve to enjoy, especially in our long dark winter months! #MyJasper #CanadianRockies #Aurora #Photography

Congrats to our lead guide Ben Nearingburg on finishing a project to visit all the backcountry warden cabins in Jasper (depending how you define 'backcountry' there are between 38-40 all across the park and then a half-dozen roadside buildings)! These buildings are steeped in history and harken back to a time when warden (and their families) would live in the backcountry year-round. Many of our guided-backpacking adventures cross paths with these cabins, and their porches still serve as oases on rainy days in the hills. #MyJasper #Backpacking https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/2269725763709

A bit further afield than usual, but for anyone thinking about the upcoming ski season, today is the day that the 2023/2024 Roger's Pass Winter Permit System Quiz goes online. Do the quiz, learn about the winter permit system, and save time this winter for more backcountry skiing! https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/bc/glacier/visit/hiver-winter/ski/permis-permit-quiz #GNP #Skiing #rogerspassbc
