See that makes sense to me. So it's not impervious to attacks it just has an extremely high resiliency and with the proper amount of backups, safety protocols and security measures you could get the network up and running in such a fashion that the Bitcoin network could begin hashing again.

Alright I'm at a loss currently....my mother in law keeps arguing with me about #Bitcoin her main point is that if the ledger uses the internet in order to sync and legitimate itself.

What happenes to the Bitcoin protocol if the internet is wiped out i.e. solar flare emp attack, or grid destabilizing.

I haven't been able to answer this question because in reality I don't know the truth.

The way I understand it is that without a network i.e. the internet bitcoin cannot sync nor can it connect to other nodes in the network, so the ledger itself would only be backed up to the point of failure. (When the network was attacked) As long as one node still has the entirety of the protocol and ledger then you could restart from that pount. But theoretically Bitcoin is rendered useless during the time that the internet is down. That's my take.

Is there in fact a way bitcoin could operate without the connection or am I correct in my assumption?

If I have this completley wrong please tell me what and where I've gone off course.

Actually I do....everytime my family and I talk I can eventually lead into bitcoin. They are do over me and my #orangepill behavior. Litterally annoys them that I want to educate about money...hmm

Buying a house would be the singular reason I would sell my bitcoin...however that soesnt mean I would sell at the onset. No I would put 100 times the effort into finding the right house with property. A house that could also be an asset. Have a small family farm, some dog kennels and a work shop..

Basically I save in bitcoin for this in the future.

One day I'll be able to but that house with my bitcoin that wasn't debased daily.
