People talk a lot about government overreach... But no one cares when the government starts putting restrictions on people if they can be persuaded that it's good for them.

If you're mentally ill, you can pick a gun up on the street, carry it around without it being registered, no background check, no trail that even leads to you... Then go shoot people who aren't straight white males.
If a criminal is cunning enough (which is rare in Florida) they can get a throw away gun registered to a dead person that can shoot 3 different bullets, get 2-4 people to say you were at some party several counties away, and just leave the gun at the scene of the crime - after whiping your prints, leaving no shoe prints, no witnesses, no hair. Murder has never been so easy.
