nostr:npub1jzj75qhe36nt9rrg6ud7nc3ut5fpq94x3ktegy6qz9pvjxrvy7hqrfz6ss Have your read Brody's "Save the Cat?" I'm getting the advice from her. Basically, she advocates droping a big hint to the reader early on as to what general principles drive your story.
THEME: Where does this become clear in your stories? Do you have trouble articulating it?
Following Jessica Brody's advice, I have a secondary character state it in an early chapter. Doing so forces me to figure out what it really is!

How many social media platforms do you use & which is your favorite? To my horror, I realized I'm up to 5 & considering adding a 6th. I enjoy them all, for slightly different reasons, but I've had the hardest time finding other writers on Instagram.

Rainy day after a hot spell. The scent of petrichor is sweeping me into the dirt, rocks, and moss of my latest story world.
Does a particular aroma beckon you to write, too?

Once a writer, always a writer. Our craft becomes so much a part of our lives that it becomes hard to tell the two apart.

How do you figure out what your characters look like?
Even if I never describe it in detail, I like to have a solid picture in my head--and spend many delightful hours perusing Google images for that reason.

After spending forever tweaking a pitch for my latest MS, I'm starting to wonder: Do these things truly capture agents, or is it a key word within it (e.g., mermaids) that grabs them, no matter how poorly worded the pitch itself is?
