I’m in ossify camp and a love what Ocean, bitcoin mechanic and all are doing. Think “some” of the name calling etc is too much as Core developers are only human. To try to understand game theory, incentives, whether quantum is a risk, etc, etc on a foundation that changes everything (as long as it stays decentralized and secure) is too much to ask any small group of people. Add to that, “if” it looked like that…..that in itself would be a risk of attack through coercion or other. In other words, the consensus mechanism is working perfectly - by trying to impose…..we know better because we’re developers…..a free market and better option emerges and people move to it through their own choices of what they deem important, which further decentralizes and de-risks the protocol. More code review and developers on knots will now follow.

I have a 4.5 week holiday there soon. 3rd time to visit. SO EXCITED.

Negativity is based on living conditions and society...but I am the first one to admit I talk too much finance and economy with investing people and always at risk of believing our own bullshit.

More importantly...this trip we are doing Osaka, Shima, Takayama. Done the main tourist things already and have been to Kanazawa and around Hakuba. What would be your recommendation on where else to go? I love food and mountains.

So it’s confirmed Australia is moving forward to tax unrealised gains in superannuation accounts exceeding $3 million effective from 1 July 2025.  

I think that brings the tax rate to 30% on earnings for total super balances above $3 million. Ouch for those people who will be forced to sell assets…illiquid assets 😳

One of the biggest misconceptions is that these kinds of taxes are “only for the ultra-wealthy” and not worth worrying about…

Always makes me laugh when people claim to understand bitcoin and then say it needs to be used more as a currency. Clearly you don’t get it at all.

So to as long consensus is not broken and mempool doesn't get a bit too weird due to how many diff nodes running different mempool policy to the point making things harder for everyone in the end.

What is more important here is that CORE devs or any dev should not hold too much influence and arbitrary enforcement of what should or should not be done.

Thinks like node runners wanting to cast a vote against all this spam is important politically even if they don't have strong immediate effect at technical level.

Keeping everyone in check is important for Bitcoin's anti-fragile nature specially when bigger opponents arise to attack bitcoin.
