I heard something on a podcast the other day that I hadn't heard anyone talk about before. The thought was that state actors (China or US), could collude (or not), and have chip makers install kill switches and/or back doors in chips, which they could use to manipulate or take down the network. Yep. I created my own Squad because the one I was in wasn't very active. One of the people I added, added two more people, one of which had never used their card. 🤬 It's still a pretty active Squad though.

As a fellow Canadian 🇨🇦 , I'd love to see you, nostr:npub103m96sra82w4agghew9cdxtzs4s8sl7qsjsvw6h653yml0gjrkzqefd3h5 and Rajat, maybe do a show on nostr:npub139enddt4gc9n4swrq7cmn9ke9zj6wk9sq35lvjz57p9v5z2rr5wsf6yeat on living on a #Bitcoin Standard in Canada. I don't love the idea of spending BTC, cuz I don't have a lot, but I understand from podcasts like yours, and those that nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe contributes to, that in order for BTC to succeed, it needs to become a medium of exchange, and conversely if BTC doesn't get mass adopted as a MOE, BTC will fail, and that would suck. I'm spending a little bit of BTC on #Nostr zaps, and Boosts on Fountain, but it's the Capital Gains Tax hassle that I am grappling with. ~ Cheers.

I heard about Fedi today and asked ChatGPT to clue me in on it.
I have a brand new Coldcard Q here that I need to set up (moving from Ledger), so I asked, if I use Fedi, do I still need my Q. ChatGPT basically said to use the Q to hold most of my stack, and send a little bit over to Fedi for spending. That sparked a discussion about Capital Gains Tax. Bigger than the tax itself, is the supreme hassle I think it would be, to track a whole bunch of little transactions.
Then I asked if I was to purchase BTC via non-KYC, and ship some of it over to Fedi, there would be no "paper trail" and one could avoid CGT. That is the context of the screenshot here.
Thoughts? Advice? General ramblings? 🤪
