Then crazies have to be locked up. To be free is to have access to weapons.

Guns are like drugs and prostitutes. If you’re 15 and have worked for several months, while budgeting accordingly, any of the three are available near you. It’s just a question of whether acquiring one of the three is high enough on your preferences to offset the risk of punishment. As things deteriorate and the state loses power that becomes less and less of a barrier to entry. In any of the three markets.

Right. I’m not even saying it’s a bad thing to have elites necessarily. That probably comes down to how they are selected and what they do with it. The culture of the group. In this case NOSTR and Twitter.

Are there any groups of people without elites? That is people who might not have official authority over the group but who have more influence in the group than other individuals? Is such a thing possible once you get to a situation where there are enough people that you can’t really know everyone?

I’m not saying this is everyone on Nostr but…

I think this might be as accurate a take as I’ve seen on war in general. Not just Vietnam in particular.

Speaking of the Cherokee, the ancestor I was named after has entered the chat.

It will be a good morning here in three hours when I’m walking out the plant for a few days off after working nights all weekend.
