Carolinian. Former combat engineer. Current before cure tire repairman.

We still picking native grapes off vines my great grandfather put in. Likely my grandchildren will be enjoying them. Assuming I ever have children. Great nieces and nephews we’ll call it.

Decided to go old school waxed canvas on my new pack. I think a camping trip in the mountains is in order for next weekend. Might head up to the park at Oconee. Do some hiking. Rent a kayak on the lake one day. Got a tent and a couple other things I haven’t tried out anyway.

I guess I’m missing out. Never been drunk or high. Also never done anything like that. Coincidence? Who can say…

People want the easy stuff. Don’t look like the easy target. There’s videos of people coming into people’s yards to rob their cars. The thief will look in the window and try the door. If the door is locked and they don’t see anything valuable they’ll move on to the next yard. If that door isn’t locked they’ll open it up and look to see if there’s something they couldn’t see from the outside. This is going to sound bad but looking like a harder target than the people down the street so they go rob the people down the street instead?🤌

Of course if they are there specifically to come get something from you because they noticed you have something they want that’s less likely to happen so definitely part of it.

The trick is to not be the low hanging fruit.

Dunno about electronic stuff but physical security? No perfect system. Just more than it’s worth to get into and takes long enough that you can realize something is going on and react accordingly. Armed security guards? At a certain point they become a trip wire that hopefully the people who really want in make a lot of noise tripping. I would assume electronic security is the same.

Modernest I have is an 04. My other one is a 93.

Just discussing this on a different platform. Trouble is people on both sides would be unwilling to let what they see as human rights violations go on in the area the other side controls. No way to prevent that without something like the current system. So here we are.

Yep. And that bar is low enough that there’s still lots of room to mess a lot of things up.

I don’t actually know anything about your problem. This is just my standard response whenever draft and or drafts is used in a sentence by anyone.

That’s what generations of the status quo with money and government hand outs do to people. Suddenly charity is solely at the discretion of the individual and everything has a cost.

I’d place it a little later with the successful coup that replaced the Articles of Confederation with the predecessor to the present Constitution which was different prior to The Recent Unpleasantness because in theory states could leave. I’d argue that was and is the correct interpretation but realpolitik being what it is there was no way the courts were going to rule that after all the money and blood spent to force states back in.
