Between this move and not being able to read tweets while not logged in, Twitter is dead. Please do not link to it anymore and just assume that we can't read the tweet.
If you want to discuss something that somebody said in a tweet, you should take a screenshot and upload it. Or just leave the platform as it's clear that users are not wanted there anymore.
600 posts per day for non-verified users is absolute joke. And how will that be counted? If you scroll past a tweet, is that counted as reading it? You also can’t see anything from Twitter without an account. Reddit and Twitter are just destroying themselves.
This effectively kills the app. Good job Elon. Have to wonder if this was the goal all along like many predicted.
So all official channels like fire departments, police, emergency alerts etc should stop using Twitter immediately. The Arizona fire department dealing with the diamond wildfire right now keeps referring to their Twitter in press conferences about where to go for the most up-to-date info.
It was never a good idea for public services to use a private company for emergency communications. they never should've done that. Many cities and counties don't put alerts anywhere BUT twitter which is why this is an issue. I don't think anyone is complaining about having to speak to each other or read the news, call off your damn dogs.
Social Media companies typically want users to scroll as much as possible. How do you sell ads when users just... can't get to them?
I think we're about at the point where the people who predicted chaos at twitter after Elon basically fired most of the experienced engineers have been proven correct. The duct tape is all coming apart at the seams now.

If I were an advertiser still on Twitter I’d be fucking pissed. There is little point to having this platform if its traffic is so restricted.
