IQs not a good measure of intelligence but when you look at things from a demographic standpoint it's a good indicator of differences in intelligence.
Also all of the discrepancies in male and female achievement make perfect sense if you just look at it from the perspective of women being more average and men being more extreme.

IQ tests say that wonen tend towards average intelligence more than men do, meaning there are far fewer women on either end of the intelligence spectrum.
Realistically men who are extremely intelligent should just expect a woman that can keep up with them intellectually instead of one that is their equal. You could get lucky though.
