nostr:npub1hcwcj72tlyk7thtyc8nq763vwrq5p2avnyeyrrlwxrzuvdl7j3usj4h9rq is the spammy one.
Grouping the last 229k nostr events by their pubkey gives me 7539 that ever only sent one event and 1 that sent 7932 events.
The following is a scatter chart with each spot (x, y) representing the number of pubkeys x that posted y events.
While this chart looks very orderly, I suspect it's the result of these frequencies being almost too perfectly random. The regression line probably has something to do with random numbers repeating exactly in the range >1000 being far less likely than <10. In the first range they have to be equal +-0.05% and in the second range only +-5%.
The reviews I have seen so far (1) praise the speed an accuracy to focus even the tiniest elements. I don't think you have to worry about this. Given this product will only be available next year, I'd call any efforts now premature optimizations.
Which client has spam filters? Apparently filtering for "optimism" or "airdrop" would go a long way.
Strfry with [strfry-policy][0] is just as easy to filter paying users.
What do I do if this takes hours? Bitcoin Core 25 that is.
I don't know what nostr:npub1rhaxmxxgs5jkw4zesrptnwd5nrknh5lkaxnlzzegz9vphlgfdlqsjmej47 is, but they've been Zapping me all day and I'm curious as hell to learn about them. #Zapvertising works.
Doesn't look like they have a product yet.
I want to run the relay with this and much more. Currently, relays have a extremely primitive price structure. All paid relays charge a flat rate for getting white-listed to send events to that relay. Anybody can download these events a million times for free.
I'm working on a relay that keeps track of all resource usage attributed to pubkeys.
NIP-23 writing tools should default to using a friendly-url slug type for the `d` tag
instead of some random number
my-awesome-article
that way I could link to it like:
/
like
https://habla.news/pablo@f7z.io/my-awesome-article
much nicer URL than a naddr on the URL
naddr also contains relay information, doesn't it?
I did not investigate BitGo a lot but I came across this name as the custodian of custodial wallets ... a lot. Searching WalletScrutiny I find at least 29 reviews that mention it.
You know what is worse than a custodial wallet? All custodial wallets using one custodian. Now the regulator only needs to strong-arm one company. Or to go a step further - what if BitGo gives the best conditions to companies not because they have the best operations but because they are setup to disappear with the funds?
Can you get it onto FDroid under the new appID?
You might not like what he promotes or "TED Talks" but Hans Rosling is great at visualizing data. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usdJgEwMinM
I'm exploring filtering on the relay so I have to be somewhat less strict than what individuals might want to filter. Ultimately, if the Pessimism spam bot wants me to relay their spam, I want to offer that service, too, for a price. I don't see relays as providing access to subscribers. Clients should still filter as needed but until I figured out how to price repetitive messages every minute, I'd rather block them.
How long before SHA256 mining gets boosted this way?
For all those who are not anymore on #Twitter (I wasn't there too for three weeks). The first #Tucker Carlson episode there:

He ran with the "there's aliens" story and so did Kennedy. Seriously? Media can't be that corrupt that such a bomb-shell news could be kept under wraps. The source must be unreliable. Chances of an alien civilization coming to earth but not being at least 10k years more advanced in tech, yet getting caught and studied by humans is so unbelievable.
The power imbalance must be like assuming that while studying ant farms, the ant colonies occasionally get to capture the scientists and study them in return.
