The Guru's Grace (spiritual teacher) is both external and internal. From the outside, he pushes the mind inwards, and from the inside he pulls the mind towards the Self and helps it keep quiet. That is the grace. There is no difference between God, guru and Self. A guru's help is necessary and useful to start you on the inquiry, but you yourself must pursue it.

Come into the silence of solitude, and the vibration there will talk to you through the voice of God.

#ParamahansaYogananda

Stillness is absolutely necessary.

It is an inward turned mind,

turned inward of all senses, thoughts, and concepts, and this is a free mind. Keep Quiet.

Mind going out to pleasure is samsara,

mind in samsara is cycle of birth, suffering, and death.

#SriRamanaMaharshi describes the sense of I as the fundamental, self-evident awareness that is always present. It is the consciousness that knows, "I am." This I' is not the body, mind, or ego but the pure, unchanging awareness that underlies all experiences. Ramana often refers to this as the 'I-I' or the true "I.

To know that it is the true 'I' Ramana speaks of, one must recognize that it is ever-present and self-luminous. Unlike the transient thoughts and sensations that come and go, this I' remains constant. It is the silent witness to all that occurs without being affected by it. When all thoughts and identifications with the body and mind are relinquished through self-inquiry, what remains is this pure sense of being.

Ramana advises that through persistent self-inquiry, asking "Who am I?" and turning attention inward, the false identifications fall away. The true I' reveals itself not as an object to be seen but as the very essence of our existence. It is experienced as a deep, inherent sense of presence and peace, devoid of attributes, distinctions, or forms.

In essence, this sense of T' is simply the state of pure awareness, the unchanging consciousness that is always present. Knowing it is the true 'l' comes from the direct experience of this unbroken, self-evident awareness that transcends all temporary experiences and phenomena.

You speak of paths as if you were somewhere and the Self

somewhere else and you had to go and reach it.

But in fact the Self is here and now and you are that always.

There is One who governs the world, and it is His lookout to look after the world.

He who has given life to the world knows how to look after it also.

He bears the burden of this world, not you.

#SriRamanaMaharshi

Knowing your true identity And ever in the Heart abiding As the Self supreme alone, Play perfectly your human role, Tasting every pain and pleasure In common with all creatures.

#SriRamanaMaharshi

Past and future are dependent on the present.

The past was present in its time and the future will be present too.

Ever-present is the present.

To seek to know the future and the past, without knowing the truth of time today, is to try to count without the number 'One'.

Without us there is no time nor space.

If we are only bodies,

we are caught up in time and space.

But are we bodies?

Now, then and always

- here, now and everywhere

- we are the same.

We exist, timeless and spaceless we.

#SriRamanaMaharshi.

SELF AND IGNORANCE .

Q: Where did ignorance arise from ?

M: There is nothing like ignorance.

It never arises. Everyone is jnana svarupi (Self-abiding).

It is just that jnana (knowledge of Self) does not come easily...

The dispelling of ignorance is jnana, which always exists. It is like the necklace, supposedly lost, which remains around the owner's neck, or the ten fools each counting all nine others, but failing to count themselves.

To whom is knowledge or ignorance ?

Your nature is Bliss.

Ignorance is now hiding that Bliss.

Remove the ignorance for Bliss to be freed.

To whom is the trouble?

The trouble also is imagined.

Trouble and pleasure are only for the ego.

#SriRamanaMaharshi

The ego is

cleverly hidden in noble thoughts,

like to start a vegetarian diet or use the bicycle, & then turn into a sense of superiority towards those who do not follow the same spiritual path.
