The Guru's Grace (spiritual teacher) is both external and internal. From the outside, he pushes the mind inwards, and from the inside he pulls the mind towards the Self and helps it keep quiet. That is the grace. There is no difference between God, guru and Self. A guru's help is necessary and useful to start you on the inquiry, but you yourself must pursue it.

"Now enter that silence.

This is the surest way to lose yourself....

What is your life about, anyway?—

Nothing but a struggle to be someone, Nothing but a running from your own silence."

If your religious practices have not made you soft hearted, you have wasted your time

#Mahabharat

Do everything you have to do, but not with ego, not with lust, not with envy but with love, compassion, humility, and devotion.

#LordKrishna

This shakti, this Divine Mother, gives you the urge to look within to find out who she is, what she is, and where she comes from.

She only blesses a few people in this way. There are billions people in this world today, but only a few of them have been picked out by the Mother.

"It is not

necessary to explain things to God, for He knoweth

your need before you speak, and is more ready to give than you are to ask."

Get out of your head and get into your heart.

Think less, feel more.

This moment is a small moment, very very small, atomic. Just a little unawareness and it is gone.

One has to be very very alert to catch hold of it, otherwise it will slip by. The whole of life only consists of such atomic moments. If this moment it is slipping by, then other moments will also slip by. You will be continuously desiring and dreaming and never arriving anywhere. This is the situation of the majority, this is the state of ignorance. Everybody wants to be blissful, but bliss is a consequence of being in the moment.

#Osho

If you want to travel the Way of Buddhas and Zen masters, then expect nothing, seek nothing, and grasp nothing.

#DogenZenji

We don't have to go anywhere to obtain the truth. We only need to be still and things will reveal themselves in the clear water of our heart.

#ThichNhatHanh

You are a witness, so stay like that only. That is the only penance you should perform.

You are only a witness.

Just hold on only to that. Then it is not even necessary to meditate.

All happiness comes from

awareness.

The more we are conscious, the deeper the joy.

#SriNisargadattaMaharaj

The only stable [identity] is the observer... and you alone are that observer - the eternal one.

#SriNisargadattaMaharaj

Ulladu Narpadu (Forty Verses on Existence) Verse-35:

"To seek and abide as the (eternally) accomplished existence-reality is (true) accomplishment. All other accomplishments are like the accomplishments that appear in dream. When one wakes up from sleep, are they seen to be real? Will they that are established in the true state and are rid of delusion, be deceived by them? Thus should you know."

--------------------------------------------

We are the Self. Because of nescience we do not realize our nature as the Self which is existent-reality. We imagine that we are born and we die, that we are confined within the bodies which we call ours, that we are agents and enjoyers, etc. All this is the work of nescience. When through right knowledge nescience is destroyed, we come to our own. It is no new achievement; it is the Self-gain (atma-labha), the greatest of all gains.

All other gains are in fact nothing. Sri Ramana compares them to the gains we may have in our dreams. We may strike a huge treasure in our dream and become millionaires, all of a sudden. But of what use is all this treasure in wakeful life? We cannot buy even a meal with the millions acquired in a dream. Similarly, the gains such as wealth and progeny that we seek for and get in our wakeful experience will prove themselves to be myths when we realize the Self. There is not even a hope of Immortality through wealth, etc., as Sage Yagnavalkya teaches Maitreyi in the 'Brhadaranyaka Upanishad'. When we wake up from the slumber of ignorance, the false ends disappear, the unreal vanish. Those that know the truth are not duped by them, for they are no longer under their spell.

From ~~~ Self-Enquiry, 18

Q.:

How do the three states of experience, the three bodies, etc.,

which are imaginations, appear in the Self-light

which is one, impartite and self-luminous?

Even if they should appear, how is one to know

that the Self alone remains ever unmoving?

M.:

The Self which is the lamp (1) shines of its own accord

in the inner chamber, i.e.,

the causal body (7) that is endowed with nescience

as the inner wall (4) and sleep as the door (2);

when by the vital principle as conditioned by time, karma, etc.,

the sleep-door is opened, there occurs a reflection of the Self

in the egoity-mirror (5) that is placed next to the

door-step - Mahat-tattva - ;

the egoity-mirror thus illumines the middle chamber, i.e.,

the dream state (8,) and, through the windows which are

the five cognitive sense-organs (6), the outer court, i.e.,

the waking state.

When, again, by the vital principle as conditioned by

time, karma, etc., the sleep-door gets shut,

the egoity ceases along with waking and dream,

and the Self alone ever shines.

The example just given explains how the Self is unmoving,

how there is difference between the Self and the egoity

and how the three states of experience,

the three bodies, etc., appear.

"If one is surrendered to God, God will look to it."

#SriRamanaMaharshi

Don't pretend to be what you are not, don't refuse to be what you are. Your love of others is the result of self-knowledge, not its cause.

Without self-realization, no virtue is genuine.

When you know beyond all doubting that the same life flows through all that is and you are that life, you will love all naturally and spontaneously.

Pleasure and pain are equal

What is this mind?

Who is hearing these sounds?

Do not mistake any state for self-realization, But continue to ask yourself even more intensely,

What is it that hears?

Who is hearing?

Your physical being doesn't hear,

Nor does the void, Then what does?

Strive to find out.

Put aside your rational intellect, Give up all techniques,

Just get rid of the notion of self.

#BassuiTokusho

The consciousness (chaitanya) associated with the aspect 'am' is called Sakti.

The universe shines by its light.

The entire creation is Sakti's sankalpa (thought):

The state(of mind) which is completely devoid of all attachment is the pure wisdom to be attained.

The Consciousness which shines as 'I' in the Heart lotus is pure and perfectly steady.

By destroying the ego, which rises, (from that Consciousness), that Consciousness itself bestows

the supreme joy of liberation. Be sure about it.
