The Guru's Grace (spiritual teacher) is both external and internal. From the outside, he pushes the mind inwards, and from the inside he pulls the mind towards the Self and helps it keep quiet. That is the grace. There is no difference between God, guru and Self. A guru's help is necessary and useful to start you on the inquiry, but you yourself must pursue it.

Do Not Neglect God for Work, Nor Neglect Work for God

You may be a very busy person but that doesn't justify your forgetting

God.Devotees on the spiritual path have ecen more tests to face than those who follow a material path. So don't use your worldly obligations as an excuse to ignore God.

You should not neglect God for work, and you should not neglect work for God.You must harmonize both activities. Meditate everyday, and be thinking of God as you carry your heavy bag of worldly duties.

Feel that you are doing everything to please God.If you are busy for God, then no matter what tasks you are performing, your mind will always be on Him. That is an ideal way to live in this world.

God says: "To the devotional call of that child of Mine who struggles, prays, and meditates in order to know Me in body, mind and soul as the all-pervading, ever-new joy - as the ever-increasing Bliss of meditation - I silently and deeply respond."

I am Nothing, and Nothing is afraid of No Thing.!

On the contrary,

Everything is afraid of the

Nothing,

For when a thing touches Nothing, it becomes Nothing!

It is like a bottomless well, Whatever falls into it,

Disappears.!

Whatever you may have to do, watch your mind. Also, you must have moments of complete inner peace and quiet when your mind is absolutely still. If you miss it, you miss the entire thing. If you do not, the silence of the mind will dissolve and absorb all else.

For eternal peace you must dwell in yourself, know how this touch of "I am" has appeared. All other knowledge is of no use in this connection.

There is No Personality, So there is No Question of Birth Life or Death.!

What remains is Only the Consciousness without Name or Form.!

Viveka and Vairagya-

Viveka means the sifting of the real from the unreal; and Vairagya,

indifference to the objects of the world.

They do not come all on a sudden; they have to be practised daily.

'Woman and gold' have to be renounced, first mentally, and God willing, they should be renounced afterwards both internally and externally.

It is said in the Gita that by Abhyasa Yoga (continuous practice of meditation) dislike for 'woman and gold' is engendered.

Continuous practice brings to the mind extraordinary power; then one feels no difficulty in subjugating the senses, passions and lust.

It is like a tortoise that never stretches out its limbs, once it has drawn them in. Even if you cut it to pieces, it would never stretch them out.

Wise Sayings of #SriRamakrishna

#KRISHNA SAYS [BG 5.24]

One who is happy within, who rejoices within, and who is illuminated within, is a true yogi. Such a person attains the ultimate liberation, becoming one with the divine.

Knowledge of the Absolute depends upon no book, nor upon anything; it is absolute in itself. No amount of study will give this knowledge; it is not theory, it is realisation.

Cleans the dust from the mirror, purify your own mind, and in a flash you know that you are a Brahaman.

Happiness is what everyone is seeking for, but the majority seek it in things which are evanescent and not real.

No happiness was ever found in the senses.

There never was a person who found happiness in the senses or in the enjoyment of the senses.

Happiness is found only in the Spirit.

One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna.

I enquired whether Poetry and other Fine Arts could be used as a sadhana (means) for Self-realisation.

Bhagavan said,

“Anything that makes for concentration of mind is a help. But in the cultivation of every Art, there comes a stage when you feel that you have had enough of it, and you would then transcend it.”

When I pointed out that some learned persons consider rasa (aesthetic pleasure) as Brahmananda sahodaram

(akin to the Bliss of the Absolute),

Bhagavan said,

“Why sahodaram (akin)?

It is Brahmananda itself.

For have not the scriptures proclaimed

raso wai sah (He is rasa)?

Indeed Brahmananda is the real rasa.

All other rasas are only its shadows.”

The morning before I left, Dr. Syed, Professor of Philosophy, Allahabad University [No.23], asked Bhagavan,

“What is the purpose of creation?”

Usually Bhagavan gave replies in Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam. This time He spoke directly in English, and asked,

“Can the eye see itself?”

Dr. Syed replied, “Of course not. It can see everything else, but not itself.”

To Bhagavan’s question that “if it wants

to see itself”, he said, “It can see itself only in a mirror.”

Bhagavan then commented,

“That is it.

Creation is the mirror for the ‘I’ to see

itself.”

At Bhagavan’s instance I translated into Telugu verse His selections from Yoga Vasistham. In the last verse which says, ‘whatever part you have taken in life, play it well,’ I added in Telugu rendering the phrase saisava lila (the sport of childhood). Bhagavan appreciated it by saying,

“It was a happy phrase and correctly portrays the attitude of mind one should cultivate according to the slokas.

Has not the Christ said, ‘Unless

thou be as children, thou shalt not enter the Kingdom of God?’”

The Self is pure and unaffected

The impurities affect only the ego.

The mind only exists by thought, take away thought and there is no mind

#SriRamanaMaharshi

The real Self in Egoless State is none other than the Reality, called 'Sat' - that which

'is'.

This 'Sat' is also 'Chit', Consciousness. For nothing is real that does not exist in its own right. Whatever has no consciousness can exist only by consciousness. That is why the Sages say that the world is mental. The Self, we have seen, is the one indubitable Reality. And when the sheaths fall away, It remains as 'pure' Consciousness, beyond the three states."

German scholar: "I've come to learn from you." "

#SriRamanaMaharshi : "Then you can go somewhere else, because here we teach to unlearn." Learning is not our path. Go somewhere else. If you're ready to unlearn, stay here. If you've come to learn more, then this isn't the place for you. Universities exist to learn. When you come to me, come unlearn. This is a university to forget, a university to create without mind, a university where everything you know will be taken away from you. All your knowledge must be abandoned so that you may come to know yourself, so that you may obtain perfection, clarity, so that your eyes may not be filled with theses, theories, prejudices and concepts; so that your eyes have clarity, absolute clarity and transparency, so that you can see.

The truth is already there. He has always been there. "

There is a class of people who want to know all about their future or their past.

They ignore the present.

The load from the past forms the present misery.

The attempt to recall the past is mere waste of time.
