thinking to use a different #nostr client, wondrin which one I can try this time, wishing to find a one-stop-shop

and it was in Bangalore where I was late to an international flight, as I took so much time shopping for ouds and pure sandalwood in Mysore and travelling from Mysore to Bangalore was no joke, on a busy day. I could imagine prison cells in Bangalore to be that horrible, as locals eat with their hands. She must've been terrified, hoping she can find a way to go through a diplomatic channel to save her from that ordeal

I've travelled to India several times in the past, first was with my businessman-father, stayed in 5⭐ hotels all the time, but once my father left for Zurich, I was always left alone to explore the cities on my own because I've been adventurous since I turned 17 and my adventures included going to the innermost and most dangerous streets and alleys in Mumbai to meet with hardcore criminals and diamond traders, go to money-changers at 2am with loads of cash, been late in an international flight in the State of Karnataka at age 20, explored Delhi on my own at age 21, and as a foreigner travelling to India, I was lucky enough never to have been assaulted, not in any way, though I'd say I was never the type who'd feel afraid to venture into the unknown, but yes, it's dangerous to be in India alone, especially if you're a girl and hearing your story made me think, Yaysus, I must have grown balls of steel not to have anticipated anything like that, or maybe I was just too innocent or just didn't have the ability to attract bad vibes as a young woman travelling alone, and I wish for your friend to be freed asap, as I've seen the hardness of life back there. Isn't there any diplomatic channel that your friend may be able to get in touch with? That, imo, would be the best possible way to get her out of there fast!

It's an accepted reality amongst the HAVES, a status symbol even!

Take the case of Iran, a predominantly Islamic, non-democratic nation, where nose jobs (rhinoplasty) and breast implants are as normal to them as kebabs. Nose bandages are even paraded in public, left on for much longer than the healing time, to let others know they've undergone rhinoplasty, just like breast implants aren't kept a hush-hush. If you can afford it, flaunt it. If one can undergo rhinoplasty, etc., that means they are proud that they can afford it, that's just that!
