I love Nix for managing my configuration files but I've been too chicken to go full os for a daily driver.

I tried to do as much in nix as possible and I've found the need to go back to apt for too many things.

It's the restaurant analogy, so that's kinda apt, I guess.

While not as popular, I've found https://github.com/atdixon/me.untethr.nostr-relay to be pretty solid.

I forked it to publish the build as a docker image and published a Helm chart.

This will be good as communities emerge around a particular relay (or set of relays)

Yeah. From a mobile use perspective, having tailscale on both your node and your phone and then connecting to the clearnet address is much more usable than connecting over tor.
