Bob's merit is that unlike most people in the macro interview space, he doesn't sensationalize things. His audience and reach grows slowly relative to its quality due to the shitty algo, and so I take time to promote his channel, which I don't do for most channels that interview me.

I recommend that you go downvote my interview with him, and upvote several other interviews of his, if you're going to be so cynical as you are in every reply.

In some Nostr posts from a while ago, I vented about how I hate YouTube's algorithm and how it incentivizes people to make sensationalist headlines and images.

Like, I'll do a serious macroeconomic interview with a great and well-informed host, and then when it gets published I see that the headline image is like a picture of the dollar exploding with me smiling next to it, along with a sensationalist text description, for the algo.

I hate that.

So I'm going to aggressively shill an example of the opposite. Someone doing it right. I did an interview the other day with an institutional investor and bitcoiner, who doesn't do that. He has normal headlines, and normal pictures, to talk about serious things. Robert Dewey.

Bob has basically gone out there and told YouTube's algorithm to fuck off. He has a small subscriber base, despite being a more informed interviewer than most, as a gray-hair institutional investor who also gets bitcoin at a really deep level. I've met him in person, and he's great.

So my shill for today is, go check out Bob's channel, and consider giving this interview or any of his other interviews a thumbs up. Let's be conscious regarding shitty algorithms, and highlight things that push back on them.

That's not too far from the original Olympic idea. That's why they have things like decathlon. The idea was to display military prowess and you had to be a good all-rounder to succeed in battle.

If you are going to make a breaking change to the nostr protocol like this you might as well focus on key rotation because normal people don't use cold storage and even cold storage can get hacked.

Certificates/delegates imply key rotation, because you rotate the certificate/delegate. For reasons of security and repudiation. Only the master is permanent.

As to what "people do" they'll have to do what we tell them is the right thing to do.

Nip46 remote signer is close to this solution, although a device with the master key needs to be active to complete the signing. I think nip46 has a better trade-off balance because all clients don't need to support the solution to associate those events to your account.

Both your idea and nip46 have a common flooe: the master key must remain a secret.

With certificates/delegates/master-child keys you don't have that problem. Master key can stay in cold storage and you can create 1 certificate/delegate per app or multiple.

Sure, that will help. But managing multiple keys is not hard. A regular password manager solves most of the way. There is no need to link keys together with a Master / Child crypto scheme.
