June 2024 | I had a mind-blowing experience at BTC Prague. I ran into THE Adam freaking Back!

Dr. Adam Back is the genius behind Hashcash - that proof-of-work that became the foundation for Bitcoin's mining algorithm. This dude has been in the game since the cypherpunk days of the 90s! He's like the OG of OGs in this space. Not only did Adam's Hashcash lay the groundwork for Bitcoin mining, but the big man Satoshi himself cited it as an influence in the legendary Bitcoin whitepaper.

Bitcoin Pizza Day is celebrated to commemorates the day (22 May 2010) when Laszlo Hanyecz, a Florida based programmer, bought two Papa John’s pizzas for 10,000 BTC (a seemingly insignificant amount back then).

Why does this day matter?

- First Real-World Transaction: This was the first time Bitcoin was used to buy something in the real world, proving its value beyond just a digital concept.

- Big Ideas Start Small: That simple pizza purchase showed how small beginnings can lead to big changes. Bitcoin has come a long way, growing into a major financial force.

Bitcoin Pizza Day isn't just about remembering a quirky transaction. It’s a reminder of Bitcoin’s incredible journey and how it’s re shaping finance and challenging traditional notions of money.

May 2024| I had the privilege to attend the "Bitcoin Channel Tech Talk" in Hong Kong. The event was focused on the Bitcoin state channel with keynotes from contributors of different state channel solutions.

The deep technical talks were nothing short of inspiring, covering the Lightning Network, Taproot Assets, Scriptless Script, Discreet Log Contracts (DLCs), HedgeHog (instant offline payments) and BitVM.
