Back when I owned an IT consulting and services company and my partner was trying to screw me, I was a fan of the old saying "if you give someone enough rope they'll hang themselves". It turns out this saying is still applicable today. Cool.

**RE: Nostr Plebs ToS Violation**

I would have been okay with someone registering these names and using them for specific purposes, such as posting Tesla car facts or Nikola Tesla facts or someone that's a YouTuber. These are clear use cases. However, when this person registers 8 IDs on our platform, it's a clear case that these are not the intentions. Furthermore, the Tesla npub has been changed to reflect the name Tesla Motors.

I have always tried to hold Nostr Plebs to the highest degree of customer support and transparency. I have always tried to do right by the community. I have always tried to do right for the Nostr Plebs brand. I said that in the future, NIP-05 ID providers would be judged and scrutinized based on their reputation.

It seems like that future is now. Nostr Plebs will stand for integrity and authenticity. Though again, we are not a verification service, but that doesn't mean that we won't hold ourselves to any sort of standards.

We have suspended the IDs apple@nostrplebs.com, tesla@nostrplebs.com and youtube@nostrplebs.com due to these accounts having profiles that try to partially impersonate the companies and seem to be bought for the sole purpose of resale value. We will open up these names later for legitimate use. We are also investigating another 4-5 accounts.

I mean by purchasing the name they aren't necessarily claiming they are the real company. So not impersonating necessarily. If they do try then different story. Tesla can buy them out if they want to

On a serious note, the "Tesla" and "YouTube" accounts that were just registered on NostrPlebs.com may be a violation of our Terms of Service. We do not allow impersonation. That said, if Telsa or YouTube would join Nostr, they would use their own domain names for recognition. So, my question to my fellow Nostriches, is this actually impersonation? I appreciate you thoughts on this.

**Interoperability**: Nostr allows different clients to communicate and work together, regardless of the developer. This enables users to have more choices and greater flexibility in how they use this protocol and it also promotes competition among vendors. Competition is good.

**Innovation**: Open protocols allow anyone to build on top of them, which encourages innovation and experimentation. This can lead to new and exciting ways of using Nostr that would not have been possible with closed, proprietary protocols. We'll see new and exciting features pop-up within clients or entirely new Nostr clients, using Nostr in a way that are completely unique. This is the **"Other Things"** part of Nostr.

**Decentralization**: Nostr is decentralized, meaning that it's not controlled by any single entity. This promotes a more open and equitable protocol where no one can easily be censored at the will of someone in control. This puts control in the hands of the users and users in charge of their own data. We all know why centralization is bad at this point, right?

**This is why we are building at an incredible rate.**

This is why Nostr has blown up over the past two days.
