Same situation here. No ill will towards old friends but don't have much in common with them. I look at old friends and see hard working but complacent people that are struggling to get by and ignorant as to how the system is designed to keep them trapped.
We were promised that shit decades ago with the invention of the personal computer. What really happened is the people running companies just demanded employees get more done.
