You could argue that all fiat currency is a confidence game too. But it's much harder to drive a pump and dump on the dollar or the euro than it is on #BTC. We live in a place where some of the most unearned fortunes of all time - people who did absolutely nothing to better our lives - are wealthy. Quite literally for doing nothing.
