"What's hot" is also just one, very simple feed (8 likes?) that stands in for many others. Try skyline.gay for more feeds.

We made invite codes longer because the old ones were getting brute-forced and letting an unexpectedly large wave in. Then we revoked some outstanding invite codes: codes that we think were obtained through brute-force, plus some in the invite chain of actioned (labeled/banned) accounts.

thought quite a bit about this and it was holding us back from implementing blocking. our answer now is that other servers just need to drop connections with servers that don’t respect the user-intent of blocks.

yeah it won’t be perfect because it’s the public internet, but we think we can do blocks in a way that mostly works, and then add more tooling on top to help. just gotta build it.

We have been juggling moderation and federation as priorities. These two pull in different directions, but our approach to each has informed the other. We are close to finishing the first pass on federation and the second on moderation, but need time — time which today has not been giving us.
