# Nostr Markdown Guide
I have compiled a list of markdown code that can be used when posting on Nostr.
I have only tested this on the snort.social platform, so there could be some addtional markdown codes available on other platforms.
Please let me know if I have missed any and I will append it to the list.
## Headings
You can create headings by using the hashtag (\#). See below examples:

You can create more levels of headings, but you get the point.
## Text Styling

## Quoted Text
You may want to quote some clever genius.

## Lists
You can make normal and numbered lists.

Nested lists are created by having the first nested item align with the first letter of the item above.

## Emojis
Yay! You can use all sorts of emojis by start typing \: followed by any other character.

## Disable Markdown Rendering
If you want to actually use some of the letters that is creating a markdown, you need to use the backslash character (\).
\# I can write anything and it doesn't show as heading 1

Nostr has the potential to kill several social media platforms. In terms of users, that would be massive!

Nostr and Zaps is truly amazing. You can choose your role on Nostr and immediately get paid for the value you provide, whether its story telling, nostr support, bitcoin & lightning support, travel experiences, life hacks, restaurant recommendations, ... You name it. The list is limitless.
As long as others think there is value to your posts, you'll get zapped.

It pretty straight forward.
With todays complexity, probably chosing a custodial and don't have all your sats stored in lightning.
Keep it like your bank accounts. Have a secure savings account (cold storage) and then have a spending one (lightning).
You could increase security in your spending account by setting up your own node, but that will require you to get some technical knowledge.
Why would anyone buy GBTC when you can get the free one? I get there 50% discount, but I doubt that all risk is accounted for.
Relays can ban/censor you, however, you can find multiple relays and even have your own. The whole purpose with Nostr is really to enable free speech, so there will always be a relay that will hold your posts.
You could also create your own relay and keep a backup that way.

What am I?
Reflashed my SD-card with 1.8 Raspiblitz. Now my node is getting stucked with Blockchain Progress: 5 restarts. Anyone experienced the same issue?
That being said, would be great to have some sort of filter or sort function. Sorting by zap posts ⚡️ only would be a great value to only see posts that are actually driving value.
You can limit it to certain relays. Paid relays are less likely to be used for spam.

It’s really just the Bitcoin community that is part of the Nostr for now, isn’t it? Functionality needs to be as efficient or better than Twitter and other social medias before mainstream adopts.
With the current speed of development, this could happen soon rather than later though!
