Tinkering, vibe coding and the long tail of open-source
People often praise big open-source projects. The number of users is pareto-distributed, most projects have very few users, if at all. But do they make sense? Is it worth creating projects with few users? Should you release software that you write for yourself? I have written quite a lot of projects that have very few users if at all. But building in public and sharing my work has many benefits – for me and sometimes for others. Something that has been tried, even if not successful provides the dark data. And of course, the new trend of vibe coding enables many more people to contribute to the Free and Open Source code.

(of course OptionPlus podcast is also on nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqtxwaehxw309anxjmr5v4ezumn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tmwwp6kyvtkx46kv7tgx3kxketnd3nhs7rrvdkxwwrxxp585ct6dpshwdmjwdexsanxw96hs7ndxfnxkd35vvmny6rswv6r2m3swc6n7cnjdaskgcmpwd6r6arjw4jsqgr98zf9a0akv86p3kx86p6tachg4lthsuqamzg8psk6jdk4w8j4cv6qcgkr and supports v4v)
Caught this at /dev/hack/day and if you are building even the smallest of vibe coding projects, I recommend you check it out.
A year ago, I had not yet started podcasting. I thought lightning payments were for buying coffee.
If you haven't tried running a node, with keysend, you are really missing out on what programmable money is.
There is another world of features that is just missing.
There is SO MUCH integration into podcasting 2.0 that exists right now. Not in development, right now.
I used to be there. I used to think eventually this will all come to nostr. I get it. But it already exists y'all. It's amazing. Give it a try!
It runs on top of LND and Alby and allows you, the podcaster, to see all the boosts coming into your podcast, with the message. In real time.
Also, you can see who is streaming sats to your podcast.
Hey nostr:nprofile1qqszxyp33y6kea7ghsymhz6rrlp7w859tqkg7a2mnmskqgpunsv7gqcx9qgdn, and idea for sovereign feeds. Can sovereign feeds send the NIP-53 event to nostr when a podcast goes live?
I dislike zap stream. It's the primal of streaming. But even I will admit it integrates this NIP well.
For podcasters, who already have a media empire, it's a bit annoying to also restream to zap stream when we have the direct HLS links and such. But it's difficult to send this event afaik.
I'm using sovereign feeds to podping for live and maybe it could also optionally send this NIP.
I NOW HAVE HELIPAD!
I get it now. It took me a year to finally get on it. I have been missing so much.
If you have a podcast, you owe it to yourself to look into it
I have been sleeping on Btcpayserver. I will have to another unwound episode here because it's amazing.
If you have a podcast, I encourage you to have a funding tag. The funding tag is just a url.
I have now added a BTC pay server link on the page and the invoice goes to my own node via Alby.
It's the perfect use case for the funding tag!
Thoughts on BTC Prague, dev hack day, and cypherpunks meetup. Recorded live from radio.bitpunk.fm, now with 100% more audience participation.
Inspired by the great nostr:nprofile1qqs2p9fwkqd9vm4rqac0zvh87pqgt2k3l9csgks2jhc7wrxj89vwcmgpzpmhxue69uhkztnwdaejumr0dshszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qgawaehxw309ahx7um5wghxy6t5vdhkjmn9wgh8xmmrd9skctc8jlpr3 I have set up a publisher feed! It is a very cool feature of podcasting 2.0 if you have multiple feeds you can link them all together.
I'm not sure what client apps support it, but it is a cool idea!
In recognition for his support of many Podcasting 2.0 creaters and musicians, nostr:nprofile1qqs00y32ptdnlfxa5hhv4f30dalwv9vl0a27pqpkdpkx3cyrstp50zqpg3mhxue69uhnwumjwgmkx6revvm8vmrg0fcxxvngdsmxc7t4denhvmr4da585undwsmnv6mzwv6xkmtev358y7r0v94kkcn3w4skgtnvda3kzmqpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3yamnwvaz7tmsdaj8gctjv3ejucm0d5acyaae 's nostr:nprofile1qqs0802z4yd0tul3csx2gkkjy62xf2men94n9kncarkj4wg3zxcguegpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduqs6amnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0dsq3samnwvaz7tmhv4kxxmmdv5hxummnw3ezuamfdejs50le7z has been awarded a bitpunk.fm NIP05 verification!
I am slowly starting to add supporters of butpunk.fm to my nip05 list. It's a much cooler list than nostrplebs.
nostr:nprofile1qqsyymc3xj8lpcld5t2mjpheed7ewsc8t2u9aweuzh2hlwqtfcj7c0svcm07p is the number 1 sats streamer so I've added him. And nostr:nprofile1qqs89uu2d8fl7h5vvpn60kr5uu0ef7hw6xrdwv72jz0zxhr2gy6g0scpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0qy08wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttsw43zuam9d3kx7unyv4ezumn9wshsz8rhwden5te0dehhxarj94c82c3wwdjk66tndakzuer9wchspcepm5 gets a big thank you for delivering some cassettes!
You should be able to switch you nip05 over, it's your same nostr username and current pubkey.
Thank you for your support to bitpunk.fm!
Back in the cassette hustle. This is a great synthwave tape! It is really fun from start to finish.

I've just read more tomahawk cruise missiles were launched. They are a cursed weapon.
Podcasting 2.0 solves this. You can live stream video and audio in a podcast player. You get the feed in a decentralized ecosystem of players.
The medium is the message.
Bitcoin content on YouTube doesn't communicate Bitcoin values -- the content doesn't matter.
The message is that of fitting in, being easy to consume, and joining the mainstream.
All of the tapes I've brought to Prague are now in the hands of others. There are some great artists on this tape and I hope they find some cool fans.
I will be hitting the next issue when I get back and I already have some nice submissions and some ideas cooking!
Check the sticker tables throughout the day today at #btcprague for a special hard-cap photo run.

Layer 1 is kinda like a never ending tape 🤣
Mmm, same time zone boost for the v4vj ending the week! Thanks for supporting poetry as well!

Poetry on tape live from Prague will begin in 20 minutes. Watch for the podping or hop on the pre show at radio.bitpunk.fm.
You can listen live also at the new site:
I will miss it tonight but I got my request in.
C64 demo that ends with a bolt12 qr code would be a nice idea! 🤓
Phoenix wallet is pretty cool y'all. You can make a custom bolt12 BIP353 address.
So: tapes@bitpunk.FM works nicely.
I followed this nice guide from
https://sethforprivacy.com/guides/setting-up-a-bitcoin-username/
This book hits so hard. I'm on page 29 and I'm running out of ink.
Duchamp is My Lawyer, is the title.

Nostr is ham radio I say.

Found this gem at a ham radio flea market this weekend.
It's not the 1-877-BIT-LOFI phone, but I can make outgoing calls with it.
If you are into electronics at all, you should go to your local ham fests. There is so much cool stuff there. And despite that hams really like talking behind the radio more than in person, they are quite nice.
It's also a nice reminder that one day I will die and my wife will be burden with selling all my electronics. However, I'm using this as an insurance policy so she doesn't kill me at the moment.

Hey nostr:npub1f49twdlzlw667r74jz6t06xxlemd8gp2j7g77l76easpl8jsltvqvlzpez are you using your Start9 node for your podcast? If so you should checkout the Helipad app?

https://marketplace.start9.com/helipad?api=community-registry.start9.com&name=Community%20Registry
Oh man this looks legit, thanks ill check it out!
