nostr:npub1lmg5feq9cq763996k4gfxerzev2dtkyf5h96e7n5axl4snlf2vts2wxe3r It’s a very historic and cool building. I haven’t eaten in a restaurant since early 2020 so hopefully saying I want to try the buffet will help me to actually do it when the Timberline Trail clears of snow.
nostr:npub1vadhc7mrzk73qvvmuxtntud99vxlv0dxqlz6ej4ga6h2tuvtl45sunmz4u So true! I was relieved. Thanks!

nostr:npub1t8hmvxkqjyg6y6hrx945k9ga0kg9u84w5wurx6e5axak8au3q0fsxsakgm Very true, I’ve heard of lots of different products that people are using. I can confirm the permethrin has no smell once dried.
nostr:npub1cqhmpg3rv38atgp9vy5j7kevdsepjwf3gr4c8576szzypn25sjeqv24rf7 I plan to! Bookmarking this post to research these locations. I’ve heard of goat rocks, they say that is one of the best sections of Washington PCT.
nostr:npub1lmg5feq9cq763996k4gfxerzev2dtkyf5h96e7n5axl4snlf2vts2wxe3r Awesome! I’ve been thinking about exploring the section between Timberline and Breitenbush Lake, which it looks like Frog Lake is in. I hear the breakfast buffet at Timberline Lodge is amazing. Want to try it someday. Also thinking of exploring south of Santiam Pass. Enjoy your trip! I’ll be in Lincoln City at the beach next weekend.
nostr:npub1p9ynrpt0gcjkpfgkn0scyusv70glksxnhtkcytsewzng0j0hrprqj3dc6w I’m back home now, just a three day weekend.
nostr:npub1devd3t2zgpxuv8v5j38ghc7h4fyth5ddf70pn4c6uxhp5zcvpn3s9fgcfe Now I want breakfast! 😍
nostr:npub1p9ynrpt0gcjkpfgkn0scyusv70glksxnhtkcytsewzng0j0hrprqj3dc6w I haven’t weighed myself in a while but have lost maybe 10 to 20 lbs since backpacking season started. Thanks for noticing! I used to weigh 80 to 100 pounds more prior to 2017. Partly why I hike so much, to keep the weight off.
nostr:npub1t8hmvxkqjyg6y6hrx945k9ga0kg9u84w5wurx6e5axak8au3q0fsxsakgm Interesting! Seems there are lots of natural scents they don’t like.
nostr:npub18z496emc278pjjj8j40c3dyw3yl9tcx5pq5j7v82m9rzx20hc2vsr3pkkh Thanks! I much prefer to not deal with bugs.
nostr:npub1cqhmpg3rv38atgp9vy5j7kevdsepjwf3gr4c8576szzypn25sjeqv24rf7 Maybe it’s a matter of what we are used to. This Washington state forest had better mountains and a better network of trails compared to my Tillamook SF.
nostr:npub1z6zxywjqau6wxj7r97ulvw274mp5qkptanrqps043nzq4cvsqpeq7hlldu Thanks! Yup, the mountain on the right is around 120 km away.
Yacolt Burn SF Backpacking: Wrap
Had an amazing trip! I camped at a waterfall and explored a new area. Beautiful views and so much left to explore. Will definitely be going back. Washington is a wonderful state!
No mosquitoes or ticks so I didn’t get a chance to test the permethrin treated hiking clothes but I was glad that I was prepared.

nostr:npub1hguyr62dpraqc7lr6q2mlc8wthy7qmlxl58px9g2vseyd6xjm8yqvmpcwf Ours is dry heat too thankfully. We just had a mini heat wave and it was almost too warm to sleep at 2200. There was a sweet campsite at 4200 feet I wish I had known about.
nostr:npub1pmnamlw6kxet8hgkmxgm6yxz9z7qhm9nkyp5nv0fxwu0gtnshprqhw7cwg Thank you! I’m back home now but I have many more long weekends between now and mid-October.
nostr:npub1xkrfzgpy6mhkkg6xh5lglpdqrcwuqrfxwp3u4ct326903gsqxr0s0puyh5 Thank you! No bugs for some reason.
nostr:npub136az0g6xa09g0cl252rhxdj7ufsq87dylzp79hu83jhc4nekmvqs8j0dpx I don’t remember Silver Star so that might have been my first time. Amazing place! The campsite up there looked sweet and there were more tents on the ridge north.
