I checked my purchase history, and the problems started Feb 2022. Every camera I purchased after that date had a problem of some sort. To be fair, they have always been very quick and efficient in resolving the issues, but that is not the point.

The WLF is spotless and really bright - it's arguably the best finder I have used. The camera has bellows focusing, so can focus really close. And when I tried it, the image really popped. It looked more 3D than real life!

I’ve heard it said that everything looks better on a WLF. With this one it’s true!

To say I am disappointed with the Mamiya C330 from #kamerastore, also known as #kameratori is an understatement. I have been buying my film cameras from them for several years. They used to be really good. Great accurate descriptions, and the cameras I bought from there were great. I used to recommend them! Now their descriptions are more vague, and I have had problems with the last four cameras purchased from them.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

My latest acquisition arrived—a Mamiya C330 TLR camera. Yesterday I put a roll of film through it and developed it this morning. I was gutted to find that there are problems with the film advance. The spacing between the frames varies between 1/2 to a full frame. There were only 7,5 frames on the roll.

This is the fourth consecutive camera that I have bought from #kameratori #kamerastore in Finland that had to be returned for refund or repair. All were certified fully working with no defects.

Seriously though, it was recommended by the YouTube channel Analog Insights. That was for a different film. I have had mixed results. It comes with a list of recommended times for different films and what ISO the film should be rated. It needs a bit of trial and error and agitation is crucial (120 film needs more). But if everything aligns, the results can be amazing. I think I have just nailed it for Delta 100 @ 50 ISO

You probably need to shoot the film at 40C plus 😉

I’m getting excellent results using Ilford Delta 100 exposed at 50 ISO and developed in Spur Acurol-N 1+70 for 9.5 mins. Excellent whites with good detail and dark blacks. Almost no adjustments in post; mostly set the black and white points.

Developing film in this Spanish heat presents some interesting problems. Daytime max of 43C, night min of 24C and tap water well over 30C.

I cool the diluted chemicals in the fridge, including wash water. Loads of ice in the water bath to keep everything at 20C while developing. Works well once I got the hang of it. I can maintain the temperature to within half a degree.
