On LinkedIn (or anywhere else), any company that does not list a salary range in its advert is scamming you. They will offer a lowball salary and then make you negotiate (which is inherently disrespectful, given that they do that to cheat people who don't have good negotiation skills). Even after negotiation, their high end will probably be on the low end of the scale. Any company that treats people like that is looking at you as a fungible resource, not a valuable team member. I'd avoid those companies in favor of ones that treat candidates with respect.

"How do LLMs impact tech interviews?"

Going through responses on this. An interesting observation from a seed-stage CTO:

"Not much change. We allow candidates to use LLMs, but there's no difference in takehome completion, or onsite interviews. Our rejection rate remains 90%+."

They don't have a lot of choices at this point; but I fear that it's way too late for MSNBC to recover.

An internal tool completely unique to Google - with nothing similar across any of Big Tech, or other large companies:

Memegen

@thecaringtechie explains what it is, and why it's uniquely "Googley":

This seems so obviously true I can’t understand why anyone pushes back on it.

Is it just the cult of vaccines can do no wrong? Mercury is a known neurotoxin, of course this is a culprit. It’s also so embarrassingly easy to fix, just adding buffer times before shots, that you almost can’t believe there is any resistance at all

AI Engineer, as defined here:

'AI Engineer' means you build things that contain AI - LLM chains, agents, multi-modal stuff.

So, what is its opposite? What do we call a 'normal' software engineer?

CSS Flexbox, simply explained.

"what's the difference between SQL and NoSQL and how can we choose between them"
