I agree with you on all that, would just add the corrections that I don't think the USSR was based latter on either once one accounts for time period considering that it collapsed over 30 years ago and the West was based by today's standards in the 1950s,60s,70s etc. too, and that the point of Barbarossa was to secure resources and make Germany so strong that no Western invasion against it could succeed in the inevitable event that the Allies didn't make a truce as this was already foreseen in late 1940 with the US elections.
