"It's what you can buy with what you've got that counts."
Scrooge McDuck, in 1967, explaining that, "Ah, inflation, that's a mess. It means your money is worth less and less. It would take a hat-full of $100,000, I dare say, to buy what your piggybank can buy today."

I’ve always heard Gresham’s Law stated as “bad money driving out good money.”
But, damn, Murray Rothbard’s interpretation is hella better!
“Champions of the government's coinage monopoly have claimed that money is different from all other commodities, because "Gresham's Law" proves that "bad money drives out good" from circulation.
“Hence, the free market cannot be trusted to serve the public in supplying good money. But this formulation rests on a misinterpretation of Gresham's famous law.
“The law really says that "money overvalued artificially by government will drive out of circulation artificially undervalued money."”

Inflation is fraud.
Inflation is defined as: an increase in the money supply (per Austrian Economics)
Fraud is defined as: a deliberate and intentional act of deceiving or misrepresenting information to induce another person or entity to part with something of value.
Money-printing misrepresents information about the purchasing power of your money. And what you've been suckered into parting with is the original time and energy you put into working in exchange for money.
Hence, inflation is fraud.
Inflation just makes assets *look* taller, but it's just 2 kids standing on top of each other in a trench coat.

“What Has Government Done To Our Money” by Murray Rothbard
Ordered this for Kindle based on recommendation from nostr:npub1gdu7w6l6w65qhrdeaf6eyywepwe7v7ezqtugsrxy7hl7ypjsvxksd76nak Ammous during a podcast.
Ammous also recommends Rothbard’s “America’s Great Depression”
Excerpt: The Great Depression was not a crisis for capitalism but merely an example of the downturn part of the business cycle, which in turn was generated by government intervention in the economy.
If you’re rich and own assets, inflation kicks ass.
If you’re poor and own zero assets, inflation will kick your ass.
Like a giant fart from fiat’s ass. Silent but deadly for some. A dirigible for others.
This a great music mix! Definitely got me head-boppin' in my chair!
Using bitcoin to make purchases in a #Bitcoin economy would be exactly like using V-Bucks in a Fortnite economy or Robux in a Roblox economy.
V-Bucks are the in-game currency for Fortnite. You can use V-Bucks to purchase the following items: Outfits, Pickaxes, Wraps, Emotes, Battle Passes, Gliders, and Contrails.
Robux is the virtual currency used in the online gaming platform Roblox. It can be used to purchase a variety of in-game items and upgrades, including: Avatar accessories and outfits, Special abilities in games, Weapons, Other objects
Inflation is a distortion of the unit of measurement.
As an example:
In 2014, the tape measure says you’re 6 feet tall.
In 2024, the tape measure says you’re 12 feet tall.
But your physical height hasn’t changed. It’s the units on the tape measure that have changed.
Because of inflation, there are now twice as many inches in a foot and twice as many feet in a yard.
One foot = 24 inches
One yard = 6 feet
You’re not physically taller, the tape measure is distorted.
