The point?

It all depends on WHO is watching or what LENS you are viewing it.

If not because of the gift of pains, we would not be awaken to do better, to change and to innovate.

You CANNOT FORCE people to switch!...

What I have learned from my marketing class is this:

"Telling people the benefits of a service or product may get you a customer but not a loyal one".

Whether switching to decentralise platform eg. #nostr or to changing their lifestyle or to getting a better diet will NOT WORK.

Unless...

That person sees it as paramount/important to them.

Why am I sharing this? I am sharing it because what I've learned as a life coach that "CHANGE" is not for EVERYBODY. It is scary to some extent especially when they have to UNLEARN everything they know about the WORLD, the institutions who they believe are there for their BEST interests!

But the reality is, CHANGE takes self reflection, it takes courage and conviction to execute and follow through.

With that said, I am not saying this journey of ours - in getting people to WAKE UP and move here in #nostr is impossible!

I am saying let's focus on the relationship building, the early adopters because once we nailed them, the rest will follow through! Every social platform starts at somewhere. 😀

it could either be two things:

1.) They maybe a big content creator who used to getting paid big moolah from the centralised and forgot how it is like to start from scratch. But this is highly unlikely!

so I bet it could be the second one.

2.) They did not experience what it was like to be working your a*s off to get organic content out there & grow your following without receiving a penny!

As someone new to #nostr I am grateful to even get a zap! I am already thankful that this community exists! In itself is a blessing.

So, I'd rather focus on me! 😀

I don't need to hold back! I am indeed waking up from the shuckles that I have put myself in!

Isn't that odd how much of our CHOICE and our FREE WILL we hand down to those institutions and corporations and allow them to run our lives?!

Well, not anymore!

I have no ill intent to those in POWER or who RUNS what! But if it affects me and my way of living then that I cannot stand and watch.

I know with much freedom comes with greater RESPONSIBILITY.

Once you have SEEN it, it cannot be UNSEEN...

Over the last 48 hours after realising that centralised social media platform could easily take away my hard efforts by banning me regardless of the reasons.

I spent migrating my contents to my own hosting server! The one I PAID for, THE ONE I Control and the ONE I Have A SAY.

Then, distribute my content through my email subscribers and #nostr!

I admit - tasting freedom has never been this blissful!

Funny thing was, I had a dream today! I was dreaming of my former bosses! LOL 🤣

Guesd what I said to them, "I don't care how nice you are or how much you pay me, I will never fall for your propaganda again and your twisted CORPORATE POLITICS!" 🤭🪬

ARE YOU BLIND?...

It is easy to get blinded and forget a sense of reality.

When I started to grow my Tiktok following, I was feeling down for being stuck at 1,623 followers for few months! Until my followers started to increase. The reality is 100 or 1000 followers in a headcount is a lot.

The point I am making is this, in life it is easy to feel discontent because you are following the crowd and you are too blinded to your goal.

In my case, getting a large following so I can monetise my content. Believe me, I was not alone. I am certain someone out there feeling discontent because they do not have the latest handbag, the latest car or whatever they desire. It will never be enough until you fall apart!

We forget to live and put things in perspective. If you cannot hit your goal, it is not end of the world but a new wisdom, a maturity!

Don't forget to live and enjoy the world for what it is!

The solution was right there before me all along!

As a noob on #nostr I have been searching for ways to store my videos to move away from the draconian techs like Tiktok and Youtube (check my previous post on my page!). I realised that I do have my website storage and I completely forgot about it! I was so used to the idea of the centralised social platform where data storage is free at the expense of my freedom and my data! Without realising that I will never be free unless I change my ways and the way I participate in capitalism!

The bottom line, the answer was there in front of me. Store my media on my web hosting, optimised there and share it here on Nostr!

I am learning and I am excited like a kid as I know more about this new norm - freedom from the centralised platform! The opportunity is limitless as long as we all want it...👌😀

I just downloaded HandBrake and it is very useful piece of tool! I was searching for video encoder when I posted my question to reduce the media size and could not get a decent one. This is great! You are legend! 😀
